AP :

Rejecting calls to leave Iraq, President Bush on Thursday ordered gradual U.S. troop reductions from their highest level of the war and said more forces can come home as progress is made. At the same time, he said Iraq needs "an enduring relationship with America."

In remarks prepared for a prime-time address from the Oval Office, Bush presented his strategy for reducing U.S. forces. "The principle guiding my decisions on troop levels in Iraq is: return on success. The more successful we are, the more American troops can return home."

Wasn't it wonderful how much Bush and his Flying Monkeys were bragging about killing this evening?

Tidbit for their bloodthirsty, violence-loving followers, I guess. A few Soldiers for Christ included.

And the measure of success will be the dead and injured American soldiers, I'm sure.

Too bad 1994 Dick didn't tell 2003 Dick what a quagmire it would be if we invaded Iraq.

Maybe he did and 2003 Dick just lied about it.

Gawd I love liberals and Dumbacrats.

Every now and then, they do have a good idea. Unfortunately, Bush bashing ain’t one of them. It’s still not working folks, and the horse has long been dead.

If Reid can muster a few Geritol and get SERIOUS about reaching across the aisle to moderate Republicans, he might get those 60 votes – if the Dumbacrats care to vote. But after taking charge like a bull in a china shop, I have to wonder.

My prediction is that he will get the votes. Too many conservatives and Republicrats are tired of hearing the constant liberal whining about Iraq – eventhough they sided with the Reps on Operation Iraqi Cave-in earlier this year. Gotta love that Congressional approval rating, huh?

Pelosi on the other hand is hopelessly lost and is providing absolutely no leadership whatsoever in the House. It may be time for a change.

Personally, if the Bush Administration is not willing to declare all out war in Iraq, the troops MUST come home – all of them. But given the short track record of this Dumbacrat led Congress, that is quite iffy to say the least.

How the hell did the Democratic Party die so hard? No leadership, no balls, and no ideas. Maybe they are just too damn old. Regardless, this is not a good way to legislate.

Top Iraq commander visits Fort Benning Sat Sep 8, 6:10 PM ET

Before the Army's top commander in Iraq was due to deliver a much-anticipated war assessment to Congress Monday, he stopped over in Georgia to witness his son complete training as an Airborne trooper.

Gen. David Petraeus visited the Fryar Drop Zone at Fort Benning Friday to watch his son, Stephen, make his fifth and final jump as he graduates from Airborne School.

"I'd like to introduce our latest Airborne trooper," Petraeus said as his son, a 20-year-old member of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Army ROTC program, beamed.

The general also attended a memorial celebration for the dozens of World War II veterans who were members of the Army's first black parachute infantry battalion, the 555th, also known as the Triple Nickel.

"You are true American pioneers. You challenged the conscience of a nation and its Army," he told the veterans.

Stephen Petraeus said he's looking forward to his father's much-anticipated appearance before Congress on Monday.

"My dad is a jumpmaster and a master parachutist," he said. "I hardly think he's nervous about giving a speech."

This General is looking more Presidential every day. He does have a purple heart which he humbly wears the third row down on the right rather than up on top by itself like most wounded military do.

His son is obviously going to Iraq or Afganistan, not like the Bu$h good for nothing twins or Cheneys gay daughter....

What more could the GOP want to counteract Hillary or Obama?

There is a link on the right side of this WEB page titled, "Politics: Inside the Democrats' War Strategy".

If you believe what it says, then Pelosi, Reid, and the other useless and worthless elected idiotic liberal whiners in Congress must be shown the door.

Talk about staying the course…………

“Facing mounting pressure to produce results on the Iraq, Democratic leaders are considering a variety of amendments and political tactics that will satisfy both war critics and moderate Republicans. The task is proving exceedingly difficultâ€.

“Sources have told the Huffington Post that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-NV, and others are considering an amendment setting a firm April 2008 deadline for withdrawing all troops from Iraq. Such a measure would likely die in the Senate - it fell seven votes short of the filibuster-proof 60-vote minimum last summer - but is designed to satisfy anti-war factions. Democratic leadership would then pursue compromise legislation calling for an immediate drawdown of U.S. troops with "goals" for future withdrawalsâ€.

"The feeling I get is that [Senator] Reid doesn't really know what to do," said one senior Senate aideâ€.

DUH!!!!!!

Going back to page 2;

Memo to the founding member of the California Ditz Society: Looking mean and ugly isn't working. Your gross incompetence and laziness has made things even worse for this country when it comes to Iraq. You need help. Here are a few tips;

1. The GOP is just about dead. Learn how to take advantage of it. And put some REAL work into it.

2. I thought Democrats were supposed to be more intellectual than Republicans. REACH ACROSS THE AISLE AND BUILD SOME ALLIANCES WITH MODERATE REPUBLICANS. AND KEEP YOUR PARTY MEMBERS LOYAL.

3. If 1 and 2 don't work, RESIGN, and let someone with some real leadership traits take control of the House. Just because you’re a career politician doesn't mean your a good leader. And your actions so far have proved it!!

There is a link on the right side of this WEB page titled, "Politics: Inside the Democrats' War Strategy".

“The wildcard over the next few weeks continues to be the Senate Republicans. President Bush is set to proclaim Thursday night that he wants troops in Iraq to remain at their current levels until next summer. Whether moderates in his own party will support him remains unclearâ€.

“As is his custom, Sen. Warner is likely to wait until all other options are on the table before plotting his course of action. Insiders predict that he and Senator Chuck Hagel, R-NE, -- both of whom have announced their retirements from the Senate - could very well determine what type of Iraq legislation makes its way through Congressâ€.

"I think people like Sens. Hagel and Warner understand that this is the last shot," a high-ranking staffer told the Huffington Post. "I think [Democrats] are going to try to get Hagel and Warner to lead that charge on the Republican side... It could be pretty historic. What would the White House do if you have Warner and Hagel rallying this thing?"

Someone needs to spoon feed to Reid……………..

"The way forward I have described tonight makes it possible, for the first time in years, for people who have been on opposite sides of this difficult debate to come together," Bush said.

The debate is not difficult at all, those in favor of the cold blooded murder of hundreds of thousands of innocents for the personal and political gain of a few of my closest friends say aye; opposed say nay - the nays have it 6,827,972,741 to 666.

Listen you worthless piece of shit, nobody is coming together in your criminal war of aggression for oil rights and oligarchic profits; the good people of this land simply lack the political numbers to oust your sorry ass and turn you over in heavy shackles and an orange jump suit to The Hague - we’ll get the last say here Asshole, for good always beats evil - may you hang from the neck until dead and rot in hell for ever and ever, amen.

Thank you Hume. In my temper I have no patience to find and represent the facts that were here for all of us all along. Your patience is a help. For my part I feel that I am running out of years in which my nation might be restored among those of peace-loving countries around the globe. My patience for those who are destroying it is growing extremely short.

Hang in there, friend. We might be getting to the point that we have these fascists on the run.

Just remember, four years ago, only a third of the population believed us when we said that this war was unnecessary, that it was a fraud.

Now, 2/3 of the population is with us!

We are winning. The fascists are on the defensive.

Keep the pressure on. Never give up. Never.

You remember when Colin Powell stood up in front of the world, and he said Iraq has got laboratories, mobile labs to build biological weapons....They're illegal. They're against the United Nations resolutions, and we've so far discovered two [the labs were later judged to not contain any such weapons, that they most likely were used for weather balloons]. And we'll find more weapons as time goes on, But for those who say we haven't found the banned manufacturing devices or banned weapons, they're wrong. We found them.
- George W. Bush, remarks to reporters, May 31, 2003

Oh! So he found them. Where are they Georgie? What happened to those?

Intelligence gathered by this and other governments leaves no doubt that the Iraq regime continues to possess and conceal some of the most lethal weapons ever devised.
