With lawmakers openly skeptical of his troop buildup, Mr. Bush will cast his plan for a gradual, limited withdrawal as a way to bring a divided America together -- even as he resists demands from those who want him to move much faster.

The prime-time address will be the eighth by Mr. Bush on Iraq since the invasion in March 2003, the latest iteration of his efforts to sketch what he calls "the way forward." It will be the first time he has described a plan for troop reductions, a radical departure for a president who has repeatedly defied his critics' calls to bring the troops home.

Yet as the president outlines his plan, his critics say he is trying to have it both ways. He is, they say, taking credit for a drawdown that has been envisioned since he first announced the current buildup on Jan. 10 -- a withdrawal that had to be carried out unless he was willing to take the politically unpalatable step of extending soldiers' tours further.

Oil hit $80. and up.

The US $ Dollar is sliding down losing its value.

The President wants $50 Billion US Dollars for the short term demands on the War in Iraq.

He intends on having the Iraq war go on forever, at a cost of about $200 Billion US Dollars a year, lets see that's roughly over 2 Trillion every decade. Is saving Iraq and hoping it becomes a democracy, worth $6 to $8 Trillion US Dollars to America? How far does your own money go?

To think that Alaska, cost the United States $50 Million US Dollars, and that after spending another $8 Trillion US Dollars on Iraq, the only thing America will get out of it is, a huge shopping mall, with a WalMart and a McDonalds, brilliant, just brilliant.

The Banks are increasing by $3.00 US, a new charge fee for every-time you use your ATM machine, taking an unwarranted, unwanted toll on your cash, all because, they are losing their shirts, on all of the Mortgage payments they are losing money on, from homeowners who go into default, and end up in foreclosure. Can you afford another hit and surcharge from your Bank?

There will be a day of reckoning at this rate.

The US has never looked so good, as far as Bush is concerned. Then again he's certifiably insane, so your on your own now.

Now that a solid foundation has been built, against all the obstruction Dems and neolibs could muster, the leaders of the country have a bit more time to pay attention to the mewling kiddies.
Down the homestretch of this administration the cards and facts will be laid on the table, the Dems and sheep like the huffkid 'tards will be exposed as the surrendering partisan, power hungry despots they are. Americans will become even more disgusted and the '08 election will be a washout.
And you're all too stupid to put down your shovels that you're digging your holes with to look around and catch a bit of reality.
It's going to be a fun spectacle watching you libs sink further and further, get crazier and crazier, then all out insanity after you fail to gain the Whitehouse yet again.

Yeah, like either you or Bush would know a fact if it bit you. Current fact is 71% of Americans want out of this disaster your fearless fool has arranged. The only homestretch will be when we no longer have to listen to Bush lie, and we get some one in the white house who has a soul, someone who quits making the US military make small scarifices.

here is the sad part most americans will want a win so bad they will let this one ride out until next july.

americans are all about feeling like winners look what they pay to go to sports event and if their team wins they jumb up and down and give a high five and they feel like winners and did not have to do the hard part. work out.

just heard this on tv churchill said something to the effect that nothing scares him more about the future of democracy than to spend five minutes talking to a voter.

Will a Field Sobriety Test be administered to Bush before he speaks? How about swearing him under oath - to tell the truth, the whole truth - before his mouth opens to make that report?

MoeJava - Damn good idea. Driving drunk is a serious violation. Killing innocent and loyal U.S. troops for the natural resources of others, not so much?

Well, that's pretty annoying. Why do they have to broadcast Bush's sub-literate rants? No one even listens anymore.
Hell, I'd rather watch panty-liner commercials.
