Dennis is who I will vote for in the primary.
America would change for the better with him at the helm.

But... I would vote for any Dem that gets the nomination. Stop with the "whore" comments about Hillary. It's Dumb!

It's simple for, me. The people that own the Dems scare me less than the people that own the Republicans.

I hate "Bush."

The phrasing of Bill Maher's very pointed question amused me and I laughed myself. For her response, Senator Clinton Hillary also responded with a laugh, and predictably, the comments included above not only derided her laughing but also ridiculed the manner in which she laughed. I've fully acquinted myself with the attributes of the Senator's character and she doesn't compare unfavorably with any of the others. Her threshold of knowledge is absolutely as good as anyones's and certainly excedes most others. Although probably well-coached for the session, for having to answer a question like Bill Maher's extemporaneously, I thought she did a fine enough job. However, always expect Senator Hillary Clinton to be condemned for all of her remarks and actions. While I support another Democrat candidate, I loathe the unfair tasteless and contemptous remarks to discredit her. In our assertions, let us be more objective and exhibit more proper deportment.

Nonsense.

Hillary has confirmed herself that she did not read the NIE report prior to her vote, but at the same time she says she used other resources to assist in making her decision. Moreover, Hillary is frequently summarized by foes and friends as a very careful and calculating person who always does her homework and is always prepared.

And if this be true: This response is out-of-character or either she is lying. I choose the latter since it is more than obvious that Hillary is playing cat-and-mouse behind her MSM 'front-runner' status and probably never even expected to have a fight for the Democractic nomination?

She proves each moment that the 'status quo' is her mantra and she does not hid the fact of who and what she stands for; the MSM has wholly given her carte blanche, by allowing her to use her 'imaginary' experience in the Whitehouse to legitimize her candidancy, while omitting her involvement in a failed healthcare plan and travelgate. She definitely has a record, but the MSM seems reluctant to examine it and her role in said record.

It is far time, for us to put the Clintons in the rearview, whether it is overtly stated or softly stated.

Go away, Clintons--Past success is not a true determinant of future success!!

As you can see most comments are not about how she laughed. That's irrelevant.

Ther problem is the substance of what she said.
That it doesn't make a freaking sense. That it's a big fat lie. And would be if someone else had answered this question in exactly the same manner.

I can't help but laugh cynically every time Hillary answers any question on her Senate pro-war vote. "It's a little more complicated than that." Not really, that complicated. It simply boils down to who you chose to believe—Bush or Hans Blix. Blix said that he couldn't find any weapons, Rummy and others in the administration claimed that they were there and they claimed to know where they were. Blix said tell me; the administration said that was classified information. I still laugh about it. Hillary and the Democrats weren't just fooled they were terrified by Rove and Bush and they are still scared. How can you defend the nation when you can’t defend your own position? Hillary claims that she now wants to bring the troops home, but she also has said that she believes that we need a long term troop presence in Iraq. Unfortunately she hasn't said and no one has asked how you bring the troops home and keep a long term troop presence there.

I am tired of Janus-faced politicians who want to have it both ways. We keep hearing that Congress can't force a reduction in troops because they don't have the votes; yet Kucinich says all they have to do is stop funding the war. The Democrats refuse to use the power they have; instead they keep crying about the power they don't have. Now they are supposedly going to compromise. In the past if the majority didn’t have the votes on an issue, the issue never made it to the floor for a vote. That’s what counting votes is all about.

It’s as if the Democrats forgot how to play power politics. All the leadership has to do is refuse to authorize anymore money unless they get the troop reduction they claim they want. Instead they keep playing nice, and Bush keeps slapping them around. He yells jump, they say how high; then shrug their collective shoulders and say we did our best, we'll continue to put pressure on him, but we don't have the votes. Who’s Pressuring Whom?

Blix wasn't even the most important player.
The IAEA was.

Keep in mind that Bush didn't sell the war on the back of the supposed chembio threat. That simply wouldn't have been enough.
He sold it on nukes and the Saddam-al Qaeda link.

Those two stories were new. You didn't hear them during the Clinton years after Operation Desert Fox and certainly not after the 1999 IAEA report.

But those two were the most scary hence most effective to persuade the ignorant post-9/11 population.

Now, Hillary cannot possibly claim that anyone in the Clinton administration or anyone in the Intel. Com. agreed that
1. Saddam was working with al Qaeda to attack the US

2. Saddam had an active nuclear program in 2002

3. Saddam would give his nukes to al Qaeda to destroye New York City

And the IAEA clearly said they didn't have any evidence that Saddam rebuilt his nuke program after 1999 when they released a report confirming that the program was 99% eliminated.

So exactly who were those "experts" she listened to and why did she believe them instead of the IAEA?

Who told her, other than those in the Bush administration, that Saddam had an active nuke program? That Saddam was harboring al Qaeda terrorists let alone working with them to attack the US?

She doesn't tell us.

In other words she LIES. And she has been lying throughout the campaign and about 40% of the Dem voters just don't care.

If there was ever a doubt, it has been abundantly clear that Iraq invasion was for control of Iraqi oil by US corporations. War profiteering by selected US defense contractors was and remains as icing on the cake. The stories about WMDs and supposed links between terrorists and Saddam Hussein were invented to trick the American electorate into agreeing to go to war. The Congress, including some Democrats agreed with the real objective of controlling Iraqi oil.

Let's be honest.

To the extent that some Democrats were fooled, it was not about WMDs, it was about how long it would take for us to finish the job. If we were not fooled by Powell’s sketches of Iraq’s weapons labs shown at the UN, you can be sure that our Senators and Congressmen were not fooled either. If it would take only a few weeks, and without significant US casualties, nobody would be the wiser before the job is done, and all would be well. As we know, that didn’t happen.

The above said, it is important to remember that many Democrats opposed this fraud (aka war).

fuck the left.

fuck the right.

just fuck everybody.

bill asks the question "why should americans vote for someone who can be fooled by george bush?"

it doesn't matter a tinker's damn in hell, bill.

because NEITHER side will learn from their mistakes.

the left will fail because they can't even agree that the most important issue facing the populace is to get the neocons out. of. power.

arguing about other stuff is moot.

if you have no power to change it, it doesn't fucking matter how ideologically pure and self-righteous you may be.

it is beyond stupid to keep putting the cart before the horse, but the left keeps insisting on doing exactly that, and expects their look of stunned amazement to be taken seriously when nothing is ever different.

the right wing keeps doing things to screw the economy and get people killed, and then wonders why everybody fucking hates them.

they just don't seem to be able to band together and all hate them enough at the same time to get fucking rid of the bastards.

how bill could ask that question when all he has to do is look around the voting populace to see gazillions of people ON BOTH SIDES continuing to do the same, stupid, wrong-headed things and then wondering why nothing is ever different, is probably the most baffling of all.

there's really just no point to this whole stupid exercise.

Well, it's true that we have too many people either talking and shouting at each other, or by each other.

Remember however, that there has always been a number of Americans in each generattion who have been able to keep this ship afloat.

Too many of us, and being human I include myself in that number many times, are so absorbed in our own lives, we forget the sacrifices of others and fail to recognize the contributions of our fellow American brothers and sisters, no matter their political persuasion.

But, I have to admit, it's easy to poke fun at each other at times and say things just to get under each other's skin. As long as we don't resort to guns and knives, we'll be OK.

you're welcome.

i have to confess, it's getting harder and harder to stay motivated. it really is.

i can sit here and wail all day about why don't people open their eyes and aspire to be the best HUMANS they can be, and recognize that political affiliations are strictly secondary, but BOTH sides are just as guilty of party over country.

the left has just been able to get away with it longer because it was wrapped up in a softer looking package.

i've come to the sad conclusion that there isn't any such thing as common HUMAN values. or if there are, they just aren't nearly as important as vanity.

look, if i had my way, there would be little question that kucinich would be the president. he would certainly be the nominee.

but i have to try and be more practical if the goal of unseating the murderers and thieves currently in power is going to be achieved.

and i have the pie in the sky hope that perhaps kucinich might yet find a place at the top where he belongs as a running mate to someone like edwards or gore, if he ran. someone who has the drawing power to pull someone like dennis to the place he belongs in the first place.

if kucinich could ever gain a platform like that to project his message, it would not be so hard to get a more diverse group of people behind him.

but practicalities must supercede pipe dreams in the short term if the death and destruction is going to end.

wishing will not make the end of the neocons a reality. nor will the ultimate ideals of a kinder, more just society be put into practice as long as the left keeps shooting itself in the foot by refusing to pull together.

You are indeed correct PK luv. The only important thing in a corporate dictatorship is working both sides against the other. Divide and conquer. Maybe a backlash however, as independents may in fact save the downfall. United we stand, divided we fall has gained many more Americans understanding of the game being played. One seldom sees a smidgeon of real difference between the two parties. A third party candidate may be a slight hope. But it's a hope.

Unfortunately, we are not yet evolved enough to accept a coalition government. It would be lovely, but we've got what we've got.

The third party idea is a nice one, but they have done more to silence themselves than any opposition could ever do.

They refused to pay any attention to one of the oldest tricks in advertising, which is perception trumps reality every time.

Jesus, even the Harvard Business school now offers classes in that very idea, and it is THE single most important training slogan employed by the Target corporation to train their employees in the art of customer service.

What good does it do to keep handing over power to those you claim to dislike time after time, just as long as you get to stand on some smug high horse?

When you know for sure that one side will not listen to you and that not even public opinion will sway them, why even open a door for them?

At least the democratic party has a snowball's chance of being reasonable.

What really kills me is that the prime example of the effectiveness of change from within is right there in front of the political left in the form of what masquerades as the republican party. If anyone bothers to read what was said by the Pat Robertsons and the Jerry Falwells who took over the republican party, they were incredibly predatory about it. They recognized that the conservatives were more likely to be swung to their point of view, and they set about taking it over from the inside out.

it wasn't instant, it didn't happen overnight but it happened, and today the country is in the iron grip of a bunch of lunatics because the conservatives at the time were asleep at the switch and did not want to see what had happened to them or admit that they had been so easily duped.

if the true political left would recognize the value of this kind of united front, we would all be a lot better off. politics is no place for thinking that david and goliath struggles are the way to go on a constant basis.

there are too many people dying and suffering to afford that luxury any more. just because i may have a set of much more left of center dreams than most people, like universal health care, like no more war, like increasing taxes, like actually increasing welfare to HUMANS who need it and cutting it off from corporations who don't, i also have to realize that i will get NONE of those things to happen if i am so locked out of the political process that there are not representatives in there at least willing to give the time of day to my beliefs.

true republicans have no more of a political home these days than true democrats.

GOP is not racist. Our African Americans have positions of high power, like Secretary of State, National Security Advisor and our black Republican brothers have proven that getting off the democrat plantation has allowed them to get ahead much faster.

The democrat party is a party of paternalistic racists, who only believe that their "negroes" can get ahead by having "white people" give them affirmative action.

I wasn't fooled by George Bush at the runup to the Iraq War. It's a fair question. It's not that complicated.

I saw through the lies and the fear mongering. I knew damn well we shouldn't be starting a war in Iraq. I knew very well there wasn't enough proof of WMDs in Iraq, and I was pretty sure Iraq wasn't about to do a raid on New Jersey. I knew the connection to 9 / 11 was bogus. The weapons inspectors were on the ground. I knew it was stupid to pull them out and start a war. I knew Bush was a con man even before he started making the case for war. I knew he wanted it to become a "war president."

So the question remains: Why was Hillary Clinton fooled by George W. Bush and why should we trust her now?

All Hillary needs to say in response to the being fooled question is this:

"There's a lot of talk about Iraq on our TV screens, and there should be, because we're trying to figure out how best to make the world a peaceful place. There's an old saying in Tennessee -- I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee -- that says, fool me once, shame on -- shame on you. Fool me -- you can't get fooled again. You've got to understand the nature of the regime we're dealing with. This is a man who has delayed, denied, deceived the world. For the sake of liberty and justice for all, the United Nations Security Council must act, must act in way to hold this regime to account, must not be fooled, must be relevant to keep the peace." -- GW Bush 9/17/02
