Ask the 45 million Americans without health insurance (and the tens of millions more with substandard insurance) if they are "spoiled."

Ask the families of the 3,776 troops lost in Iraq and the tens of thousands with life-changing injuries if they are "spoiled."

Ask the middle and working class Americans who work long hours week after week and have watched a generation of economic growth funneled up to the top 1% if they are "spoiled."

Ask those who have had their jobs outsourced if they are "spoiled."

Ask those who demand that their elected representatives uphold the Constitution if they are "spoiled."

Bill Maher can be such a smug piece of @$#% sometimes.

Bill Richardson. The best qualified candidate period. A true statesman, public servant, and leader.

If it weren't for our slick, sound-bite, info-tainment television culture, if americans cared less about "electability" and more about experience and subtance, this guy would trounce all of these losers.

If he could actually make it to the top of the Dem ticket, I'd vote for him over Giuliani, any day. I like the man.

50 years ago, Richardson would be a slam-dunk.

Bill cracks me up. I love him and his show and I think he's very intelligent. Unfortunately, the world is full of idiots. He quoted Bertrand Russell on last Friday's episode of Real Time, and he said, "The fundamental cause of trouble in the world today is that the stupid are cocksure while the intelligent are full of doubt." I think that applies here. Go Bill!

Bill, I LOVE YOUR QUESTIONS!
But these old fart politicians are so boring.
They give a speech of NO relevance to your question and I know young Americans are sick of it! So no old farts! We want a young challenged person as Prez!
Get out of the way old farts, 'cause you bitches ain't leading us NOwhere!! And we ain't dying for your bullshit war and your war machine profits. FY

Speaking as an old fart, are'nt the "young challenged" old farts by definition?
02:32 PM on 09/13/2007
The follow on question was cut out, but was very relevant.

Maher: And if you do, Gov Richardson, would you 'spank' us?

Gov R: Now, now. You know I have some Latin Blood. Calm down.

I think that I just heard Senator Vitter's ears perk up all the way out here!

Ya know occasionally it wouldn't hurt to post the transcript. My sound system went down last night and it will be a few days before I can replace it.

So come on Huffpost, have a heart for those of us without sound occasionally.

So what'dhe say.

Democratic presidential hopeful Bill Richardson and a host of congressional candidates from both parties accepted cash from Oscar S. Wyatt Jr. and his wife, Lynn, since the federal government accused the Texas oilman of paying millions of dollars in kickbacks to Saddam Hussein.

Wyatt was indicted in 2005 on charges related to illegal payments for oil contracts from the Hussein-led Iraqi government under the United Nations’ oil-for-food program. And since then, the Wyatts have found willing recipients for nearly $22,000 in political donations.

After inquiries from Politico, Richardson and Sen. Frank R. Lautenberg (D-N.J.) said they would donate the Wyatts’ contributions to charity and return them, respectively, while other recipients are awaiting the outcome of Wyatt’s trial that started this month in New York.

Donors’ backgrounds have emerged as an intriguing subplot in Campaign ’08. That’s both because the presidential race has witnessed unprecedented early fundraising and spending and because campaigns are increasingly relying on super-donors known as bundlers to rustle up cash from others — giving them influence beyond the $4,600-per-person contribution limit.

Why is Maher given this opportunity to question anyone? Every time he posts on Huffpost, all dissenting views are edited out. This guy is more part of the DLC side than the “progressive side”. He was pro war un-till it became “in” to be against it.
On Larry King he said “this is my president, we need to support him, he also said the inquiry into Attorney General Gonzalez firing the 9 US Attorneys was much to do about nothing. There are many people who were much more out on the limb when so many wore silent, such as Stephen Colbert.

This thread is going no where because the trolls are ready to distract and dissemble.

Richardson is a talented and very forthright politician but lacks the pizazz it will take to turn on the electorate. For me, the strongest ticket the Dems can mount is an Edwards/Obama pairing offering youth, populism and real appeal (for the idiots). It's as much an American Idol contest as a political decision process but I can say so as a lone poster.

Have you ever seen his show?

I have. It sucks. He throws soft balls to liberal guests and disrespects conservative ones...

Bill Maher is a hack and that was a stupid question.

Vote..Vote..Vote..Vote...Stop talking and start VOTING.

That's how we got into this mess in the first place.

HuffPo, please! What Bill asked was, "Do you ever feel LIKE we [voters] are spoiled brats?" Not "do you ever feel LIVE voters are spoiled brats?" Please don't give the GOP any ideas, or we'll start seeing zombies, mummies, and various other cadavers coming to the polls to vote for Republican candidates.

I think the voters have to do soemthing other than pick one of the "top 3 candidates" the media has annointed as their candidate. Is it Hillary, Obama or Edwards. Is it teedledum or tweedledee. Kucinich is the only one who is for real universal health care, getting rid of NAFTA and ending the war, but you have to actually listen to him or read what he says since the media ignores or ridicules him so they ncan promote their "top tier" candidates.
02:49 PM on 09/13/2007
Kucinich supports "open borders"/AMNESTY for ILLEGALS et al. Accordingly, his 'candidacy' is stillborn even if his INTENT was ever to be elected....

In response,Dodd should have asked Maher how he got the reputation for being an intellectual humorist.
