How many of you supporting Bush's war have given their blood for their Commander in Chief and country? Who of you even has a dear friend or relative laying their life on the line day in and out in Iraq? Anyone? Just what I thought. Just like your war mongering President, always willing to spill someone else's blood, as long as it isn't your. Cowards!

It's so interesting how few of these people can manage a simple "yes"/"no".

Let's come to an understanding this war is not going to end under Bush, and very probably not under who ever the next President is. There is far too much at stake. Control of oil, money for contractors, money for re-elections, middle east turmoil to push oil over $100 a barrel, power of the DC coven.
The only thing which will stop this is when an event occurs which rocks Mom and Pop America. Like Kent State, there was unrest, there were demonstrations, there was a growing unease about the war, but when the kids at Kent State were shot by the National Guard we reached the gag level.
My question is what do we all think the gag level is?
It sure isn't lying by the govt.
It sure isn't pissing away a trillion dollars.
It sure isn't being ignored by the people we elected.
It sure isn't 3700 dead soldiers
It sure isn't 35,000 maimed and mutilated soldiers.
It sure isn't up to 500,000 dead Iraqi's.
It sure isn't 2 million refugees living in surrounding countries.
It sure isn't New Orleans being laid waste.
It sure isn't pissing away $300 to $400 billion unaccounted for after Katrina.
It sure isn't placing incompetent religious zealots in positons of power in the federal government.
It sure isn't the refusal of Cheney, Rice, Miers et al from obeying supeona to testify.

Help me out here where is our gag reflex
01:18 PM on 09/13/2007
It is a sad state of affairs but we don't have one.(gag reflex) This country (us) voted this idiot in and now we are paying for it. He out flanks our lazy Dem. laeders and "The Party Of The Wide Stance" has been purchased by Corp. America and the Religious right they are bought.

We are in the valley of the death, we have no leaders and those acting as leaders are selling us out left and right. (play on words)

We now have gas at $80.00 a barrel, Bushman came to us at $30.00 a barrel.

We had 32 million people without health care we now have upwards of 48 million people.

We had 6 million kids without health care when Bushman came to us we now 9 million. He vetoed the bill to provide health care to these kids.

We have spent more on the Bushman war than it would take to cover all our SS issues and it continues at a burn rate of 3 Billion dollars a day.

We have a Dem. party that is willing to sit on its back side and let Bushman keep this war going so they might can control of the Gov.

Color me pissed...............

Why doesn't someone ask Obama if he still thinks bombing Iran is an option?
01:32 PM on 09/13/2007
He has never said that. You are making stuff up. Come on!
12:15 PM on 09/13/2007
Another Huffpo Obama slant- let's see- we give Obama a question by Charlie Rose -with lots of follow up etc. Six minutes- Hillary Clinton gets a question by a comedian who makes his living slamming politicians -She gets -hmm a minute? way to go Huffpo-
01:29 PM on 09/13/2007
Funny. I am an Obama supporter and would like very much if Bill Maher asked him a question. If you ever watch Real Time, you'll see this comedian makes a whole lot of sense and is very well informed. Also, I have never heard him slam Senator Clinton on his show. Actually, I think he'd like very much to see a woman president. You don't think his question to Senator Clinton was a good one? I think it was. My number one reason to not support Ms. Clinton is her vote for the authorization. It works well for her if she delivers a good answer.
12:08 PM on 09/13/2007
Jesus, what is with the way Obama talks now? The reason I liked him at all in first place was because of how well he could speak and outline a vision. Now that he's a candidate and has dozens (hundreds?) of advisers telling him what to say, he sounds terrible.

Every time... that he is on TV... he always... has to talk... like this... as if... he has to think... for a few seconds... about every phrase... that he says.

No wonder he's been stuck at 20some% in the polls all year. By the time he gets done with a thought, there's been so many pregnant pauses I can't remember wtf he's talking about.
01:40 PM on 09/13/2007
I hear you. I also wish his words came out a little more fluently. However, I still agree more with the content of what he is saying than what the other candidates say. I think it would be kind of superficial to just like/dislike him based on "how" as opposed to the "what" he says.
Also, I don't think "hundreds" of advisers are telling him "what to say". If that was case, his answers would be very well practiced and would come out more fluently. On 2002 before having any advisers, he was making a whole lot of sense when it came to (the at the moment possible) invasion of Iraq.

defund the war defend the war defund the war the consitution allows you demos to refuse to fund this illegal war.

this is not rocket science refuse to fund the war quit playing politics and refuse to fund the war.

support our troops is a lame excuse to keep this war going so demos can win big in nov 2008 and lets bush go down in history as a pres that did not lose a war and lets the repubs satisfy thier industrial lobbyists.

shock and awe getting out of iraq instead we build military bases there. imperialism.

the suckers: americans that still believe in a two party system. both corrupt with greed and power.

final note start a movemment to impeach nancy and reid.

As I see it, Obama's answers reflected a thoughtfulness and depth currently missing in the nation's leadership.
11:48 AM on 09/13/2007
Rose asked for a realistic estimate of the number of troops that will be present in Iraq "when the next president takes office in January of 2008."

January of 2008??? Holy resignations, Batman! Did Rose misspeak, or does he know something the rest of us don't?

Likely misspoke, otherwise she would be asking Nancy, not Obama.
11:46 AM on 09/13/2007
Senator Obama has the plan, has the determination, has the brain power, he will stands up to Bush and the rest of the neo - cons. He has the direction and above all he did not vote for the "Bushmans war".

We have 5 Dem. senators who voted for this horrible mistake in our history they should not be allowed to run for President, they damn well should not get our nomination for it. This is Bush's war period. (per Harry Ried) The responsibility for the war will be left with George Bushfor all to see.

As usual Obama, like Hillary, mentions the withdrawal of "combat" troops...Does anyone care to ask what's the plan for the "non-combat" troops, what's their number, the long-term strategy? Obama mentionned previously the need to "protect American interests" in the region, Clinton mentionned that many Americans working there needed protection (so they're staying for good?) Why let them get away with the small print subclauses, enough smoke, what's their longterm strategy in the region, when will they really end the occupation?
12:52 PM on 09/13/2007
And are you psychic that you know what will happen in the region if we completely 100% withdraw?

And what about American contractors? The Iraqi people? Other Americans in the region?

It may suck that we've been in this senseless war for 5 years, but we are there, nonetheless. America, led by this administration, in fear, went to Iraq and have caused a tremendous amount of damage and distress. We need to take some responsibility for that, otherwise our standing in the world will be viewed as even more irresponsible, and American animosity will grow so that we will have to continuously deal with terrorism.

Baghdad Does Look Good to the Corporatocracy

Big Oil, a key player in the Corporatocracy that operates America for its own benefit, purposefully destroyed Iraq in order to seize its oil. The seizure was spun as "bringing democracy to Iraq." When Iraq's territory has been secured, U.S. military forces will be brought home, leaving Big Oil's private armies to maintain the territory and protect the refineries.

The U.S. military destroyed Iraq's infrastructure, killed a million Iraqis, and chased 4 million from the country. Then Bechtel and others constructed several large fortresses on top of the Iraq oil sands.

The U.S. troops will eventually be reduced, and the private military contractors will take over the fortresses, using them as bases from which to enforce the Corporatocracy's plunder of the Iraqi oil.

Bush and Petraeus know that the foundation for this plan will only be complete in the spring of 2008. After that, some U.S. troops will return, but the private armies will remain.

The private armies serve Big Oil. No politician is even considering forcing Big Oil to bring its hired guns home

I believe the grim picture you paint. Therefore, we must not only get out of Iraq, but also close all bases as we go.

It's amazing how the regular HuffPo mushmouth idiots criticize Senator Obama but have no real workable solutions to this mess we're in.
Talk is so cheap. This man has brought real pratical solutions to begin digging our way out of a hole it took us 6 years to dig. The trolls have no solutions. All they can do is sit in their mother's basement and snipe at anyone out of their little troll circle. Put up better WORKABLE solutions or STFU!
