Is Britney Spears considering gracing another awards show stage just a week after her MTV Video Music Awards disaster?

Yes, according to an Emmy Awards show source, who tells Usmagazine.com that Fox network brass were "in negotiations" with Brit's camp as of Thursday afternoon to get her on this Sunday night's annual telecast. The source adds that while her appearance has not yet been confirmed, "the idea is to have her come on and apologize for the VMAs. She's weighing the offer."

I don't know why people want to lump Paris in with this crowd. In years past she would have been called a socialite. A person who is a celebrity soley based on her socail status. Her "entertainment" cred is very thin and came as a result of her social status not like Lohan and Brit who we know socially because of their status in the entertainment biz.

Brit, along with Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, and other of their ilk, should be secluded somewhere without access to drugs, TV cameras, and cellphones for at least a year. That would accomplish two things: it would get them out of the news (whew!), and might - just might - offer them some chance for rehab to a meaningful survival.

1) Celebrity/­Politician does or says something stupid or "offensive" (depending on the group offended)

2) Activist group gets "offended" and demands an apology

or

3) General public deems the thing offensive and demands an apology

4) The idiot either explains the activity or goes on talk shows to "apologize"

5) The "offended" continue to ostracize the individual forever
