Ana, on the McCain bus (it's hard to blog from your Treo), sends this in:

On the bus, McCain responded to John Boehner's remark that American lives were a "small price" to pay for a victory in Iraq.

Asked about it on the heels of his demanding that Democratic candidates "repudiate" the MoveOn.org Petreaus/Betray Us ad, he grimaced: "He misspoke. With all due respect, every American wounded or sacrificed is the greatest possible price to pay," and we should all be grateful, "particularly those of us who sit in relative safety while those young men and women are fighting."

Asked if Boehner's comments deserve the same level of condemnation as the Petraeus ad, McCain said no. "He misspoke, he didn't take out an ad... I'm not excusing him, I just think it's a different level."

The MOVEON ad did not call Petraeus anything...it asked NOT to betray us...jesus...cant you tell the damn difference??.

Second...who ripped the spine out of McCain? From being a tough guy with principles to being a whiny needful candidate...I wouldnt vote for him because he sold out his principles to be president even though he hasnt got a chance in hell of getting elected to anything.

Under pressure, men reveal their true selves. Here is a guy that survived POW prison but he no longer has the courage to stand up to guys that despise him.

This debate needs to be put in it's proper context. Let's not forget that MCCAIN REALLY IS A WAR HERO and that he occasionally shows signs of integrity.

Petreaus is a soldier whose misplaced loyalty is directed towards serving this sad excuse for a President. IN THIS PARTICULAR CASE, he has either had a temporary lapse in integrity or he doesn't seem to understand he's not a member of Bush's private militia and he should be loyal to interests of the United States and lives of those that serve under him.

Those that market in the dead bodies of human beings FOR POLITICAL advantage HAVE NO INTEGRITY and should never be trusted with anything that belongs to the American people. They definately shouldn't be made Commander-in-Chief and put in charge of THE LIVES OF AMERICAN PEOPLE.

John McCain.

Stuck in first gear on the Doubletalk Express.

That this former POW, one-time Republican party leader, and champion of bipartisan cooperation -- who himself was once swift-boated by Karl Rove -- cannot bring himself to call for an end to this folly or a war perpetuated by the SOB who "Roved" him is simply pathetic.

Of course the Republicans ignore the question-mark after "betray us". Using an over the top headline in a newspaper ad to entice the reader into the text below is hardly a new trick. But the President's kool-aid drinking fellow travelers delight in Move-On's too clever choice of rhyme. If they got people to watch the General's testamony before the Congress and make up their own minds on the General's veracity regarding our present situation in Iraq; then Democracy will triumph here in America, if not in Iraq.

Ok. Dementia has officially hit the snowy haired senator from Arizona.

And by the way, remember the childhood saying: "when two vowels go a-walkin', the first one does the talkin'". That would make the name BONER - no "A" in the name at all.....but the only other option would be "BEANER"....can't have that!! Back to BONER.

That should have been the title of the post: Boner pulls another boner.

Boehners comment speaks volumes about the arrogance with which those at the top of the food chain view those of us at the bottom. Indeed it is acceptable to borrow and spend billions, lie to advance an agenda, and kill anyone who gets in the way. So what's a few American lives when the profits in the pocket of those keeping this thing going will all be worth it for them.

Screw the soldiers, screw the Iraq's, and screw American's. We are the ones paying the price, not Boehner, and he knows it.

CNN has been reporting that McCain came out against Boehner. What gives CNN?

Please stop reporting on McCain. He really is a non entity at this point.

Just state the obvious that he is "dead in the water" and that Huffington Post will use space previously wasted on him for more pressing issues like Healthcare reform and the criminal investigations of the current administration.

If you'd like preface this announcement with a bio or time line showing this man's politcal and spiritual demise when he walked away from his conscience and followed Bush down the path of absolute power and corruption.

Boehner was expressing his opinion. And his opinon was demeaning to our troops and the all the lives affected by this ugly war. Move on . org did take out an ad, but it was simply raising the question concerning Petreaus's true loyalty - ie to his career and appeasing Bush or to the American People. A question that has been on probably most American's mind, by the way. The former is worthy of at least censure by Congress and an
apology from this sad Senator. The latter is worthy of our consideration.

During his lengthy tenure in the Senate, Presidents of both parties have regularly sought Senator McCain's council before deciding whether or not to take military action. Can anyone name even one time when he advised any President, Democrat or Republican, against committing our military?

Not just hypocricy

There's a WHOLE new catagory
G O P-ocricy

Defends, and rationalizes, and stands with Boehner the ass who dismisses the loss of a SINGLE soldier as a SMALL PRICE to pay, let alone 1,000 deaths), who accepted pedofile Mark Foley's MASSIVE campaign contribution and encouraged a page-chasing PERV to run AGAIN,(that Boehner KNEW had page allegations against him.)

Nope hypocricy isn't big enough to encompass these acts....G O P-ocricy
