Smiley: GOP Candidates Ignore Minorities

USA Today:

Three of the four leading Republican presidential candidates turned down invitations to a PBS debate this month at a historically black college in Baltimore, leading moderator Tavis Smiley on Thursday to accuse them of ignoring minority voters.

Smiley told USA TODAY the rejections are part of a pattern, noting most GOP candidates declined invitations to address several black and Hispanic groups, including a Univision debate for a Latino audience.

Why is anyone surprised.It's no big secret how the majority of republicans feel about Blacks.Most hispanics "pass" for white anyway.I can blame them from not attending the Univison debate.If so-called "earned citizenship"means learning english, then why have a spainsh langage debate.To all the Blacks who thought "this is a color blind society",this gives you reason to pause and think again.But in private,you know this already.

At least they don't need to be two faced about it. In the 50's and 60's and looks like Katrinna the Bush Clan believe in euthanasia. Killing and steralizing poor black and white people so they can eliminate them eventually. A well researched book explains all about it. It is something else. If it's honestly true, and it looks like it is with records to back them up, then the Bush clan are truly evil and they truly believe they are the elite class of the very few in the world. How long will people continue to whine about this so called "Black Vote" or "Minority Vote"? By doing this you put an inferior label upon yourself and hatefully blame others for seeing you in such light! You need to come to realize that a vote is a vote, no matter who casts it. Find your issues and pick a candidate who best represents your interests!

Ethnic distinctions are real.So my catagory in this culture is Black - that's all there is to it.It is not an inferior "label". Same as whoever you are. Just because the Repugs are the MINORITY in Congress doesn't mean their votes are inferior. So what if Blacks are a numerical minority in the US. That's a fact and Blacks have historically voted for the people who represent our best interest regardless of color. We know what issues effect us. We don't need any stinking advice from you. A GOP President for all WHITE people? Hardly. These good (or not so good) Christians aren't looking for endorsements or votes from GLBT Americans. And I am sure they frighten most mainstream Jewish Americans who are not gay. Come to think of it, they also frighten many mainstream white Christians who are not gay. I guess that leaves them with a hardcore group of bible thumpers, mostly Evangelical Christians, devout Catholics, Mormons and Hasidic Jews; and a few selfish corporate executives and Wall St. types. The Big Republican Tent of Ronald Reagan is gone with the wind.

Why would a first class, fair and balanced, reputable news organization like Fox not broadcast the Democratic Response to President Bush's speech Thursday night? Hmmmm? So Blacks prefer the Dems, you say. Got any ideas why?
