Rudy's new political ad attacking Hillary Clinton features multiple pictures of General Petraeus in uniform -- but now the Pentagon says that the General "has not condoned" the use of his image in Rudy's ad or any other political ads, adding that it was done "without his consent."

Rudy's Web ad -- launched yesterday -- features images of a uniformed Petraeus as a narrator's voice in the background accuses Clinton of slandering the General. In the ad, the Giulilani campaign also faults Clinton for not forcefully condemning a MoveOn ad in The Times that also features a picture of Petraeus.

Petraeus is fair game in my book. But Hillary is least of all responsible for the ad by MOve On or that thug Rudy's ad. somebody has to take Petraeus and Rudy down a notch or two.

There is some question as to whether his permission is required, since the photos were taken at public events.

It's just the Pentagon trying to divert attention from the real issues.

I've noticed a lot of Republicans bitch about this issue, particularly when it comes to satire. They seem to have no concept of free speech, even though these kinds of images have been used for over a hundred years by satirists and others trying to make a point. Also very thin skins, particularly for a military man. The wuss.
