Rumsfeld: "I Have Not Even Attempted" To Follow What's Happening In Iraq

Think Progress:

In an interview with Fox News last night, former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld -- one of the key architects of the Iraq disaster -- was asked whether he currently "pays attention to specifics about what's going on day to day in Iraq."

Rumsfeld responded by claiming it's impossible to follow events when you're "on the outside." He then added that he doesn't have time to follow what's going on in Iraq because he's too busy with administrative tasks.

Operative word - FORMER Secretary of State - even if he did pay attention his opinion or lack thereof doesn't play any part in this present situation.

Rumsfeld’s level of incuriousness about the Iraq war, the intractable disaster of his own making, is sadly not surprising. The fact that Stanford University’s Hoover institute has hired this oblivious villain to serve on a task force of “scholars†and “experts†who will focus on issues pertaining to "ideology and terror" is shocking. (http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2007-09-08-2281984423_x.htm)

Rumsfeld has wasted no time lining up this “prestigious†institute to rewrite history and provide intellectual cover up for his muddled strategy and ineptitude.

Heckuva job, Rummy! Heckuva job, Stanford!

So tell me again why this person, who is responsible for hundreds of thousands of deaths is still walking around looking to make his blood money?

Can you believe this? Is there anyway we can bring him up on crimes against humanity?

I used to think that trying this turd for warcrimes would be next to impossible. However I just read an article about how the United States under the boy king has lost and continues to lose the ability to use "soft power"

It seems logical to assume with the loss of US global dominance that other governments will be more willing to try US leaders (if only in absentia) for war crimes.

Rummy is still lying bastard. I personally hope the Muslims do not forget who caused the actions against their people. This goes back many years before 9/11, and Rummy was part of that also.

Why should he start paying attention now? He is back in the private sector, probably making money hands over fist due to the war.

And why should he make any attempt?

He knows as long as Chimpy is in charge, nothing will change.

You get kicked out of running the war with the interest in reality you have, not the interest in reality you might wish you had.
