Emmys Censor Sally Field's Anti-War Statement

Los Angeles Times:

"If mothers ruled the world, there wouldn't be any god -" Emmy winner Sally Field said before the Emmycast cut her off her sound and pointed the camera away from the stage so viewers would be distracted. Cut off were the words "god-damned wars in the first place."

"How can this be?" she asked when she won best actress in a drama series for her work as matriarch Nora Walker on "Brothers & Sisters." While the two-time Oscar winner already has two Emmys, this was her first nomination for series work, and she bested a field that included favorite Edie Falco of "The Sopranos."

"This belongs to all the mothers of the world - may they be seen and valued," she said in a heartfelt speech that was only partially heard by Emmywatchers in the US while CTV in Canada did not cut her off.

I wish the awards shows would be used more for protest statements. Maybe I would watch them, I am not interested in make up, hair and clothes so much. However, most of these performers are only engrossed in their own destiny and money.

Even those, who have come out against the war usually repeat like parrots the Madison Avenue created slogan of "Support the troops".

If you support the troops, you are supporting them conducting a war and killing innocent people and getting killed themselves. What sense does that make?

When are people going to wake up and realize what is being done to them? First they were sleep schooled to eat fast food and drink sodas until they were all obese. Now they are spending billions on diet pills and programs und plastic surgery. They dutifully buy every new gadget thrown on the market and pollute the earth in order to create more billionaires while the rest of the population slowly gets poorer and poorer.

But it is no wonder. It starts in the school districts were superintendents are paid huge salaries to keep the level of education substandard. A youth educated by television will do exactly what the big corporations want them to do.

Ms. Fields, as well as many anti military posters here on Arianna Huffington's website claim that mothers send their children to the military.

Is that now your claim, today?
