France: We Must Prepare For War With Iran

BBC:

French foreign minister Bernard Kouchner says the world should prepare for war over Iran's nuclear programme.

"We have to prepare for the worst, and the worst is war," Mr Kouchner said in an interview on French TV and radio.

Mr Kouchner said negotiations with Iran should continue "right to the end", but an Iranian nuclear weapon would pose "a real danger for the whole world".

By your analogy, the US should sit back and not worry about Iran until Iran declares all out war on the US, which is exactly what happened when Germany declared war first on the US. The co-invasion of Poland divided between Nazi Germany and Stalinist Russian. If you remember, the US wasn't bothered by an invasion of Poland enough to stop an alliance with the USSR.

Iran is a sovereign nation, just like France and the U.S. Therefore, what the hell gives us the right to tell them what to do? Iran has said they're not developing weapons. The I.A.E.A. has inspected their facilities many times. But also, what if they DID have a weapon? Again, what gives us or France the right to dictate? What if someone dictated this to us or France? We'd laugh in their face and then probably invade them just for the hell of it. Just goes to show the neocon war machine will do ANYTHING for profit.

Ginzaman, I agree with you. They're a sovereign nation. They say they're using the uranium for power, which makes sense because they spend more importing gas than the make exporting oil. And, it's definitely more enviromental.

The last figures I saw showed a 10% decrease in their crude oil output from the year before, and a 10% decrease from the year before that. They've been pumping oil out of Iran a lot longer than Iraq. Sorry, but I have to agree with Kansas. If they're going to POWER their country with nuclear, fine, as long as they don't use it AS a TOOL of POWER...if you catch my drift.
