This applies to Bush a 100%

'Tricks and treachery are the practice of fools, that don't have brains enough to be honest.' Benjamin Franklin 1706-1790, American Scientist, Publisher, Diplomat

I am not sure why Hagel is leaving now. We need good people like him in this country of ours

bush guilty of hypocrisy?
duhhhh.
anyone notice that no one else in congress from texas talks like bush, nor does anyone else in his family. where does the texan twang come from? its all political calculation.
at the nomination of attorney general this morning, more than ever he dropped every "g" as in "supportin" to emphasize his texan toughness, the fact hes "diggin" in. this is calculated, conscious to an extent.

do you think you could do a political good thing and get your fellow republicans to stop this cheap dirty trick in the senate?words are great but we need votes.

I'm definitely going to check out what this (ex?) republican has to say and his record. Can WE draft people for president ? No really? I'm tired of the dog & pony shows- drafting into public service shouldn't be limited to jury duty and (god forbid) military service. Let's draft not only a Pres. but also his cabinet- I want to know everything about everyone in every position of this next adminstration and his/her appointees.
If America can speak on crap shows like American Idol why can't we speak on our political candidates- they certainly warrant the technology and public input more. And frankly it's become just as cheesy with their pandering. I'm going to vote for the person who said what I thought long before running for Pres (or any other office) AND has not skipped a beat.I'll allow some flexibilty for moments of enlightenment- as long as they have been indoctrinated into their behavior through time.We do learn from our mistakes- but proof of learning must be shown.

It's a shame that good men like Hagel leave government service when cretins like Craig stay, even when they're caught with their pants down, so to speak.

Let's hope the good people in Hagel's state replace him with a Democrat, and not with a much worse Republican than Hagel was.

I'm sorry to see him step down.

CNN cut off the question Maher posed to elicit Hagel's answer - was it wrong to have a General on the hill promoting war policy, instead of Bush (or Cheney) himself. And of course he's correct - it's an unconstitutional trick.
12:48 AM on 09/17/2007
I don't see what is unconstitutional about it, but it was clearly a cheap manipulation of patreaus's credibility, seeing as Bush and Cheney have none.

A longer clip can be found on crooksandliars.

This page alone is prima facie evidence that liberals cannot be trusted with protecting American citizens against Islamic Extremists.

Liberals are too busy waging war against the President of the United States and Republicans instead of our real enemies.

Good night quislings.

And who are those real enemies and why did we invade Iraq to find the people who attacked us on 9/11?
08:35 AM on 09/17/2007
Everyone but fixaflat and bush know the answer to that question.

I wish we had more Senators and Congressmen in both both parties like Chuck Hagel. He is steadfast do not take any shit from George Bush and their supporters. He always challenged George Bush's agenda and war in Iraq. God Bless you Senator Hagel.

Just some thoughts...

I wonder when was the last time Rudy went to a NASCAR event?

Where is Mitt?

What is Alan Greenspan's reaction to the White House's reaction to his thought of oil being the primary reason for invading Iraq?

Remember all the way back to last week, when Ambassador Crocker made that wry, poignant joke about how testifying was so bad, and he wanted to get back to Baghdad?

Is this what he meant?

Testifying must be really, really tough.

BAGHDAD, Sept. 17 -- A U.S. State Department motorcade came under attack in Baghdad on Sunday, prompting security contractors guarding the convoy to open fire in the streets. At least nine civilians were killed, according to Iraqi officials.

The shootout occurred in the downtown neighborhood of Mansour at midday after an explosion detonated near the convoy, police said. In response, the security contractors "escalated the force to defend themselves," a U.S. Embassy official in Baghdad said.

Kind of like Tancredo's vision of Miami.
