Hillary Rolls Out Health Plan, Requires All Americans Have Insurance

Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Hillary Clinton will roll out a health care reform plan on Monday that would cost the federal government around $110 billion and require all Americans to have health insurance, Clinton campaign sources said.

The Clinton proposal will be unveiled during what was billed as a major health care policy speech in Iowa.

Under the plan, federal subsidies would be provided for those who are not able to afford insurance, and large businesses would be required to provide or help pay for their employees' insurance.

The annual cost figure of $110 billion that Clinton gives and the $90 billion that Edwards gives as the cost for their universal health care programs are a joke.

It would cost much more than that to provide healthcare for every American plus non-Americans as well. We should stop and take a time-out before going through with this.

Medicare is bleeding red ink and the Social Security system is not funded. Even if we ended the war in Iraq and eliminated the Bush tax cuts it would not nearly enough to fund these programs. And now we want to put a universal healthcare program on top of this?

Maybe we should just scale back and offer a plan to cover catastrophic illnesses. Most uninsured people can get by for minor injuries and illnesses but an illness such as cancer can wipe out you out financially.

Be careful what you ask for because the candidates will pander to you regardless of the cost and practicality it.

The deveil is in the details. She ran into much
trouble from anxious & disrespected elements

time around. Seems like this time she's getting
ahead of them: they *like* mandated insurance,
after all: really, really like it.

Without knowing the details, it would seem that
the Clinton plan isn't too much different from the
'mandatory' Romney plan in Massachusetts. The
question, of course, will be how, what do 'they'
do to make it mandatory? There has to be a penalty.

This is a serious post, and I'm hoping for serious answers.

I genuinely would like a supporter, and preferably several supporters, of Ms. Clinton's candidacy to explain to me why the following is not of concern to you:

1) She's corrupt. Every time she runs for office, we see similar violations of the law. Hsu is not the first such scandal from Ms. Clinton, there were similar scandals in her New York Senatorial campaign, resulting, I believe, in a criminal conviction for her finance director. And of course, we all know about her husband's campaign finance scandals.

2) She appears to believe she's royalty. Several former White House employees have testified in writing to this. Former Special Agent Aldrich explained that she would not even allow anybody to WALK THE HALL of the White House when she was walking; if she saw them, their career was shot. She treated the help like dirt; she cussed out Secret Service agents repeatedly; she forced White House employees to work too few hours to be full-time employees, so they could be denied benefits.

3) She seems to be completely vicious. The way she treats the help around her is part of it; she's also famous for verbally abusing Bill (long before the Monica thing came out -- Monica was hardly the first, probably more like the 400th). After the "vast-right-wing-conspiracy" show, she apparently told an aide, "That'll teach them to f*** with us".

4) Her words are entirely chosen by expediency. You can't tell what she actually believes, because she won't ever say that. She only says what she thinks the public wants to hear. Any resemblence between the truth and what she says is coincidental; it's not that she hates the truth, just that it's irrelevant to her.

Do you A) not believe any of this? B) believe this is normal for politicians? C) genuinely believe that bad people can make good Presidents?

I ask, because by all accounts, Ms. Clinton is truly a bad human being.
