Hospital Slams Romney For Staging Health Care Event

Oh, this is fun. Today Mitt Romney gave a big speech attacking the universal health care proposal Hillary outlined today as socialized medicine or worse, saying that her plan shows that "she doesn't believe in the American people." Romney delivered the speech today in front of St. Vincent's Hospital in New York City.

But now the hospital is teeing off on Romney, blasting him for using it as a backdrop to push his opposition to universal health care.

I see red and blue information signs behind the cameras and Mitt (and microphone) under a brick overhang. Maybe it's just me but I wouldn't call that a public sidewalk. I'd call it hospital property.
And the hospital is absolutely right; their non-profit status could be in jeopardy if there is an appearance of political activity or affiliation. My guess - they asked, got a no and did it anyway.

I love that Romney camp responded by noting they were not on hospital property. The hospital didn't even accuse them of trespassing and specified it was done *outside* the hospital.

What bothers me is that these politicians advocating AGAINST universal health care, do not have to worry about their health insurance. It is all inclusive - paid for by taxpayers. It reminds me of them all advocating against abortion. While I would not have one myself, there are women who may find that the only solution. Why don't these nuts come up with a way to pay for the baby's birth, and adoption? Some young girl may lose her job and health insurance (if she had any)over a pregnancy. Mitt was like Georgie, born into wealth. He appears to be as vacant, too. The British National Health Service works very well. My relatives live with the system, no complaints. Don't be fooled by these politicians. There is a better way.

The NERVE of this slick pr*ck to use the trauma center closest to Ground Zero to slam ANY health care proposal.

In fact, the wall directly behind him was, until recently, the location of the ad hoc Wall of Remembrance, lovingly protected and maintained by the hospital.

My kids and I were still bleary-eyed from driving back from the anti-war rally in DC. But I would have armed them with tomatoes, had I known what the press gaggle was about.
