Just Jared:

Funny men Steve Carell, Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart share a hug together after pretending to accept the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series award, which actually was won by Extras' Ricky Gervais at the 59th Primetime Emmy Awards Sunday, Sept. 16, 2007, at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

Gervais was not present to accept the award, so Stewart said, "He couldn't be here tonight, so we're giving it to our friend Steve Carell." Steve ran onstage and they all hugged and yelled.

These guys really were the funniest thing going.

My biggest problem with the Emmy's is that with all the so-called reality shows taking up so much air time, there is much less competition for the awards. You can still find quality programming, but just about anyone can get nominated these days.

I thought the introductions to the nominated writers were the funniest....Stewart with Gonzales saying he didn't remember (the name of each) over and over until they came to the end of the list, the feet in the mens' room stalls in the Maher intro, and the others.

I guess you had to be there.

Weird. It says, "Watch the video below" but there's no video in any browser I tried. Anybody see a video?

Amazing that geeky comedians like Colbert and Stewart (and maher) have become some of the most relevant cultural commentators of our time

These guys are so insanely hilarious! I am a fan of all of them. We all need laughs these days, and with Daily as straight man to Colbert and Carell, laughs are guaranteed. Thanks!

As my adult daughter, a great fan of good-looking and sexy men, recently said: "We get Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert, and Keith Olbermann, and they get Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilley, and Bob Novak? I'm so glad that I'm a liberal!"

Liberals rule.

Conservatives are dim-witted and boring.
