The man who writes the songs won't be singing any of them on "The View" -- not as long as Elisabeth Hasselbeck is there.
Barry Manilow has backed out of his scheduled appearance on the morning talk show after the show refused to pull Hasselbeck from the interview, "Access Hollywood" has learned.

Bravo! Some views deserved to be suppressed from public view, and that should start with conservative "ideas". The only way we're going to evolve in this country is to shut out certain ideas from discussion, and refuse to associate with people who disagree. If you allow "people" like Hasselback to speak out, you aren't a true progressive because she opposes basic tolerance.
I'm the first to say I totally disagree with Hasselbeck and just about anything she has to say and that I find her more suitable to Fox than ABC but when Rosie and Hasselbeck had their on air battles over Bush and political "views" the show worked well.
If liberalism is for free speech then all "views" should be heard. Unfortunately, not many jump on the arrogant and often non-factual views of Hasselbeck. Where's Rosie when you really need her?????? I had hoped Whoopi would be more outspoken. Come on Whoopi, get up the gumption girl!!!
If the Republican presidential candidate are boycotting the Hispanic and Black voter debates, then Barry can do the same to Ms Hasselbeck, right?!?!!?
I think a person should avoid anyone who disagrees with them on any subject. It makes for a better society. Why be exposed to ideas different from ones own?

I don't watch that show because of Elizabeth, so if Barry doesn't want to share a stage with her I completely understand. He probably wouldn't share a stage with Ann Coulter either. Who has a problem with that?
I also quite watching the View. I like Rosie and I think she was treated shabbily by that bimbo and got away with it. Why do they keep her. She must be blackmailing Barbara over something. The attacks are on Elisabeth Hasselbeck personally and carry no substance.
For example, why aren't any of you quoting, say, 15 or 20 paragraphs of Ms. Hasselbeck's as your evidence that she is "not especially smart".
