For those posts that question how we know the world isn't flat. May I suggest photos and images from satellites, the photos from the moon. God are people that forgetful or stupid I just don't know. However, I want to thank every one of those poststers (my word) for making this the funniest of events.
About, The View we might rename it the Phew, Gawd knows it stinks. Who chooses these co-hosts? Rosie gave it some edge and once she left we get Whoopi who thinks that cruelty to animals is a right of passage for Blacks.
It is shows like The View that set women back a few centuries. There are really bright women out there that can make this show interesting and fun. Where are they?
She never said the world is flat, she said she doesn't think about it. I am sure that there are a lot of people more concerned with "putting food on their family" (as GWB says) than whether or not the world is spherical or planar. While I hope that this would have been a part of her K-12 education, certainly it is not one of the most pressing issues for the people in our society who are trying to survive on a day to day basis.
Why is this person even on talk TV. She is as dumb as rock. Is she a plant to make EH look smart? Sounds feasible since EH needs mental help. I feel sorry for those kids she is raising I hope the don't turn out to be skin heads.

Okay, let's clear one thing up. I've read several people on this thread say that we have only known the world is round for a "few" centuries. That's entirely wrong. We've known the world is wrong since Pythagoras in the 6TH CENTURY BC! This was common knowledge at the time of Columbus. The discussion at the time of his voyage was the size of the earth and Columbus was wrong. This all should be common historical knowledge, but the old chestnuts of history still are taught in school.

It's sad when people venture to the edge of the flat earth and fall over. What a tragedy. Let's encourage the UN to start a world wide project and build a handrail all around the flat earth. Jolie will be happy to promote the project for the publicity. Tom Friedman can have one Friedman Unit of time to say "See, I told you the earth is flat". Sherri Shepherd can report to us from the edges and a plaque can be placed in honor of her astute insight.
