After declaring she didn't "believe in evolution, period," new "View" co-host Sherri Shepherd was asked if she thought the world was flat. Her response to moderator Whoopi Goldberg is in the clip below.

Jeffrey is Shepherd's two-year-old son.

I'm curious if these incurious, anti science, anti-reality Bushies really represent such a large part of the U.S population that they need to be represented on these shows OR if it's just a case that the flat, 6,000 year old worlders are just such a tiny but LOUD minority that networks feel they have to pander to them.

Seriously, I'm curious. Oops. Curious, ya got me. Liberal.

Look, the world IS flat. Evolution is a myth. Global Warming is a Weather Channel conspiracy. The moon landings were faked. The government staged 9/11. Kennedy was assassinated by the mob, Castro, the Trilateral commission, and the lollipop guild.

It's all so simple. Why can't you people see that?

I seem to have mistaken who didn't know the world was flat, and which one was Sherri - my flash plugin is off because I don't watch marketing - I can't believe that someone born in 1967 doesn't know the world is round..... I jumped to the conclusion that it was the youngest on the panel...! Tell me, did anyone dispute her?
I apologize for my mistake, but not for my criticisms - and I apologize to the whole world for my "culture"...

Ah, yes, another beacon lighted on our national networks. The idiot box has yet another celebrity to push into our faces. No matter that we know nothing, that is, about reality. As long as we can fulfill the "FBB" requiremnts (neither "B" refers to "brains"), we have all we need to "arrouse the interests" of our corporate deacons of corporate culture.

Do you know why many Americans watch no television? Well, this little scenario should help explain that for you.

Here we are, a bright - I mean, blonde - celebrity, twenty-something, at least thanks to makeup, placed into a highly visible chair, "emptied" of a very well-known, well-rounded TV personality about a month ago. The spot-light is on this new member of this popular coffee-clash variety babble.

And we do not know whether the world is flat? We have an i-pod or MP3-player, a cellphone, and perhaps a few other battery operated devices under the pillow, and now we can even attach pictures to an email. We can plan shopping trips, house parties with or without a barbecue, and we can curl up in front of a TV for the evening and dream about being a celebrity.

But we do not know the shape of the planet we live on? Why does this not surprise me? Why do I see this as a requirement for the media in my age? Someone who knows the world is round might not like some of things going on across its surface. They may complain, or - heaven forfend! - have their own opinions!

It seems that marshmallow between the ears is just what Americans want for their "culture" heroes. Why, she fits right in with the current custodian of the oval office! "Give us Muffy-Fluff"! Well, there you have it.

It somehow makes sense that a show called "The View" would hire up someone who cannot see.

Don't know if the world is flat? It is no surprise to us that we do not believe in evolution, as we do not show very many signs of it ourself.

I don't watch the View but if this woman is any indication of the shallowness of thought it was certainly illustrated by Ms.Shepherd. To think she actually has "never thought" about the world being flat or more importantly that at one time many believed this to be true is pretty darn scary. Children this is a good example of why you need to get a good education.

Why? She makes more money than I do. She obviously eats better, too.

I'm sorry, it should be a against the broadcast rules to put people this stupid on national TV.

Holly crap is there nothing these people won't do to sell more and more and more crap?

In recent news, George W. Bush has found a credible source to demand the teaching of creationism in school.

Who could stand to watch this show anymore? I wrote them not to hire her permanently when she said she didn't believe in evolution, but at least that's an opinion shared by millions of ignorant people. Anybody who isn't sure if the world is flat needs help finding the floor. What an idiot.

The gal is dumb as post. Send her to host Pat Robertson's "700 Club" on the CBN network.

Oh my my my... Dearie me.

This shouldn't be surprising news at all.
Not coming from ABC.
Such a Mickey Mouse organization in the first place.
One of the qualifications for them to consider in hiring and keeping a person is if they think that person would have made a good Mousketeer.
A good Mouseketeer (in their View) will have the intelligence of a brain damaged hamster, the morals of a meth addicted whore in the Netherlands, the damning judgement of a puritan at the Salem witch trials and a blood lust and prejudice against anyone who is NOT American.

...of course THEY would never fight their own battles, that's why they continually pump propaganda of preposterous proportions under the pretenses of patriotism... pitiful.

ABC... the real reason that it's called that in the first place is because it's the only three letters that are required of the faithful Mousketeers.

My my my... it's a good thing Whoopi didn't ask her or Elizabeth a more prodding question.

Like: "Can you count to three?"

Whoopi's pretty clever. i've often wonder myself whether folks who deny evolution are flat-earthers.

I thought it was supposed to be some kind of a joke until I watched the video and saw that she really has no clue! What a VIEW! ha!
