After declaring she didn't "believe in evolution, period," new "View" co-host Sherri Shepherd was asked if she thought the world was flat. Her response to moderator Whoopi Goldberg is in the clip below.

Jeffrey is Shepherd's two-year-old son.

No evolution and the world is flat. Yet more proof that man was created in god's image. God of course is a dumbass cracker.

Of course the GD world is flat. And with the age of the earth and stars, well that puts the sun about 93 miles out (rounded out slightly) and carbon dating is the latest inhalation in the back seat. Giddyup dino. Although it is a little amazing how those plants stood up until the next day when the sun was lit up. Or so it goes. I wonder how Luigi Cascioli is doing in the world court?

Yet, and with full assurance, she can tell you how many holes the cream injectors pop in the base of a Twinkie.

Black people need a better representative than Sherri
Star was fine. Whoopi is fine
Sherri is just ignorant
We also don't need a misguided right wing creationist

Of course it is flat. How could God create a round world in 7 days?

Geez, you people are dumb!

The Bible claims that Earth has four ends and four corners, pillars and can never move. If she's looking it up, she should start somewhere else, but it sounds like there's small hope of that. Maybe she should take a boo in the Quran where it says: "It is He who created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon, all (the celestial bodies) swim along, each in its orbit with its own motion." *shrug*

I don't know anything about this woman or how she landed this gig.

So, here's my theory of what happened here.

They'd just discussed evolution, and she had responded with some bumper sticker response that had been spoon fed to her by church or swami or whatever.

So, when they asked about whether the world was flat, she probably knew HER answer but thaught the view-crew was tricking her into speaking against her church (or swami or whatever)...so she just retreated to a position of TOTAL ignorance until she could check in with the mother ship.

That is, sadly, the best spin I can put on what she said.

In fairness, I should point out that most of those gloating about this have themselves simply taken their own "sophisticated" view on faith the shape of the earth and planetary movement without ever bothering to test it by observation.

well considering only about 400 people have actually been in space, I guess we'll just have to rely on the thousands and thousands of pictures and video evidence of a rotating sphere known as Earth. I suppose because we haven't all provided the actual calculations used to confirm the existence of Gravity that we're taking that on faith as well. Giminy.

like I said, ALOT of people just take what their told on faith.

and when it comes to cosmology, she and YOU can pretty much get away with it with no consequence (as long as we can hold our tongue when on the teevee!).

And, this may be news to you, proofs of the general accepted ideas of lunar and planetary movement can be observed from the ground here on earth. Galileo did not fly around in a rocketship

So, it really is no occasion to gloat.

Giminy.

Knowing whether the world is flat or not, and putting food on the table are not mutually exclusive.

This response is all too familiar among those who weren't paying attention during their time in school. During third grade geography, did this woman have her mind on putting food on the table for her children?

Additionally, what is Walters thinking in putting this ignorant woman in a position which she is obviously unqualified to fill?

Very sad.

I'm sorry, but that show is such a waste of good oxygen.
