After declaring she didn't "believe in evolution, period," new "View" co-host Sherri Shepherd was asked if she thought the world was flat. Her response to moderator Whoopi Goldberg is in the clip below.

Jeffrey is Shepherd's two-year-old son.

look at her website, she is thanking her fans who "fasted for her" so she could get the "View" gig.
Boy, America really is going down the can.

The "View" always on the cutting edge.

Feel sorry for Whoopi....

This is not about a silly person who doesn't know the world is a sphere (more or less ...). There will always be people who don't know what they could know.

But why are they filling up the airwaves? Why are companies paying to have them there? And why are we watching?

Then she likely does not "believe" in natural selection so when the ocean changes to a poor place for most current sea life to stay, er..alive and the more suited species thrive and bite her ass off will she think it all an illusion? And the cute little species vanishing at a record clip are ....what....... going to Mars?

Fantastic.
Another ignorant dumb-ass spewing nonsense rooted in religious hypocrisy and scientifically proven otherwise.

Sherri and Miss North Carolina should get together and check out a world MAP, if they can find one of those rare specimans lurking about.

And all you people defending her poor education, please .... give me a break. Ever seen a shot of Earth from the space shuttle? It's on the news ALL THE TIME and, I don't know, embedded in our minds FOREVER. Looks pretty &*%$#@ round to me !!

Hey Sherri : do the scriptures say what happens when you fly off the edge of the earth ? oh, and what's on the underside ? so we're just floating on a big disc ? cool !!! that makes a &*^%load of sense, sister.

Oh and Sherri : you've never thought about the shape of the Earth? so when you've seen a GLOBE (we all have) your brain registered the geometry as a pancake ? [no pun intended] If you weren't so worried about your next meal, and it appears you've worried quite a bit, maybe you could apply a couple brain cells to relevant issues like global warming, economic globalization, human trafficking, space exploration ! , ART, etc. Don't be afraid to THINK ! It's good for you and us too...........

I personally love that she's already spouted off this bombshell in her first days on The View. It's all downhill from here as they start picking her "beliefs" apart on national television, raising yet more awareness as to how backward and ignorant some our American people are. Too bad Sherri, you dug your own grave. Better start crafting some great jokes !!

Or maybe it's just good TV ? Good for who ?

My dog thinks about how she's going to feed her puppies. We need to get something a little more intelligent out of someone whose job it is to provide entertainment for millions.

Does't 'believe' in evolution? Who in hell hired this woman?

Who's your next co-host, Barbara? That Miss Teen USA contestant from South Carolina who couldn't answer a question about reading maps??

It seems to me if you're gonna have a talk show, get people who can speak intelligently! Many of us don't watch The View anymore because it's a joke. If you don't believe me, ask David Letterman.

Sherlock Holmes showed a similar lack of curiosity
Holmes cared about nothing that did not help him be a better detective. In one of the stories Watson brings the news that the Astronomer Friedrich Wilhelm Herschel had discovered the planet Uranus and Holmes replied, "I do not care about Uranus, Watson, it can't help me solve this case"

Well, he was right. We have an anus in the white house and Sherlock can't solve that problem either!

Yes, it is. Think about it. Pizza's are flat. When you put them in an oven, the outside edges get all brown and crispy but the center is all juicy and good. So, do you see any brown crisp edges on the Earth? Do you see Earth with any chewy, cheesy places? See, since there aren't any, there can't be any global warming! Simple science for simple minds! And those pictures of the moon? Well, computers can make all sorts of things real...like Star Was! Remember the ewoks! If they can make them look real why can't they also make it look like we went to the Moon and took pictures. The pictures are flat too!

Perhaps the American education system has failed her and she is more to be pitied than censored.

I can prove the world is round.

You can't prove evolution.

But you can't prove global warming, either, yet you believe in that.

There is an abundance of proof of both evolution and global warming. There is little to none for the opposite point of view.

BELIEF is a blind, religious point of view. BELIEVING AN ABUNDANCE OF EVIDENCE is entirely different. Science never has the arrogant point of view that its theories are correct, that's why they're theories. But the theories aren't believed in on blind faith, they are meticulously studied and restudied and as the theory holds up, they start to think that maybe the theory is correct.

Comparing believing scientific theory versus blindly having faith in magic is the difference between believing the world is round versus the world is flat.

Furthermore, science - unlike religion - holds a theory until observations or empirical evidence present evidence that disproves that theory; at that point, science either goes back to the drawing board and re-examines the theory from scratch or adapts the theory to accommodate the new observations.

Whereas religion has a history of presenting a dogmatic belief as a tenet of faith and then, if presented with opposing views, subjecting the dissenters to any number of things from being shunned (at best) through ex-communication and then onto torture and execution.

Let's be clear here: there is "real" evidence to support Evolution theory like the fossil record. In comparison, Creationists and ID supporters use the unbelievably tenuous and tortured argument that all of these things must have occurred at the whim of an imaginary supreme being because nothing so complex could have evolved by chance; this reasoning ignores the fact that evolution (aka natural selection) throws away the failures (a fact that is evident by the presence of a fossil record) – want to see this in action, come back in a couple of thousand years and see if we still have Giant Pandas or Koala Bears.
