New York Rep. Peter King, a prominent House Republican, said there are "too many mosques in this country" in a recent interview with Politico.

"There are too many people sympathetic to radical Islam," King said. "We should be looking at them more carefully and finding out how we can infiltrate them."

King is the ranking Republican on the House Homeland Security Committee. And as an outspoken advocate of strong anti-terror measures, he has been unafraid to ruffle some feathers in his drive to protect the homeland.

We just have to keep an eye on them to make sure they're not practicing that ever-treasured liberal right: The Right to Kill the Innocent.

What a surly ignoramus. At least as disgusting as his "too many mosques" remark is his glowing praise of police behavior in N.Y.C. during the 2004 Republican convention. If there are "too many" of anything in this country, it's jerks like Peter King.

King is a small, nasty joke. There is so much under-the-radar gossip about this little schlubb that it's a wonder he isn't running down the highway with his hair on fire.

A few months ago he said that being in Baghdad is "like being in Manhattan."

Being in Peter King's head must be like being in an empty room.

fitz -- get a brain . . . freedom of religion is guaranteed by the Constitution . . . king and his ilk . . . that means you . . . are fuelling religious hatred and bigotry . . . the illegal invasion of Iraq has fuelled radical Islam . . . you are part of the problem . . .

What does Shar'ia law have to do with the Constitution, stupid mic?

I'm sure all the non-muslims currently being slaughtered in Darfur, Thialand, India and numerous other locations around the world would be very interested in your theory about what is fueling fanatical islam.

Once, muslims congregate in a new area they believe and expect that area should convert its laws to comply with sharia law and the muslim faith.

Just ask Germany, Netherlands, England, Thialand, ect....

The U.S. Constitution shouldn't impose much of an obstacle to muslims, other countries constitutions haven't.

Peter King wants to be the new Heinrich Himmler. Maybe he is already having concentration camps for non-christians. Mr. King needs a lesson in history.

Though it is very important for man as an individual that his religion should be true, that is not the case for society. Society has nothing to fear or hope from another life; what is most important for it is not that all citizens profess the true religion but that they should profess religion.
Alexis De Tocqueville 1805-1859, French Social Philosopher

A history refesher, The Treaty of Tripoli, Article 11, " As the gorverment of the United States of America is not founded on the Christian Religion as it has in itself no character of emity against the laws, religion or tranquilty of Musselulmen." Some congressmen are not promoting the values of the United States of America and they need an enemy be it Communist, terriorist, Mussulmen. I believe an ignorant person in Congress is worse than a bigot, bigots change, ignorant people usually don't.

It would be accurate if he said there are too many churches that support christian extremists.

This guy is a typical hate preacher. How does he know to what extent radical islam is supported ? But once his word is out, a lot of the "silent majority" will believe him and not question what he said.

With the same logic you could close a few restrooms at airports.

I hope the Muslim Congressman from MN jumps down King's throat and brings him up on ethics Charges.

If King Had said that there are too many churchs with too many people sympathetic to radical christianity and we must find ways to infiltrate them he would have been more on the money.
