Associated Press:

The Senate blocked legislation Wednesday that would have regulated the amount of time troops spent in combat, a blow for Democrats struggling to challenge President Bush's Iraq policies.

The 56-44 vote was four votes short of reaching the 60 needed to cut off debate. It was the second time in as many months that the bill, sponsored by Sen. Jim Webb, D-Va., was sidetracked. In July, a similar measure fell four votes short of advancing.

What was it that the republics used to say about the Democrats when they would fillibuster? Oh yeah obstructionists, well who are the obstructionists now? I now think that we should have allowed Frist to change the rules in the Senate to bar the fillibuster. Then we would have had our troops home by now or at least some of them and we would get this contry back to taking care of us and not spending billions in a useless war.

Married and single women are overwhelming going Democrat in 2008 and here's the real killer for repigs

"But Republicans should not take men for granted either; many say this time they are thinking of voting Democratic.

In a New York Times/CBS News poll taken in early September, women, by a margin of nearly two to one, said they were likely to vote Democratic in the 2008 presidential election, 53 percent to 27 percent. Men are closely divided, with 41 percent saying are going to vote for the Democratic candidate for president and 37 percent saying they will vote for the Republican candidate."

"Married and single women are overwhelming going Democrat in 2008"

Sally Fields was RIGHT! "If mothers ruled the world, there wouldn't be any GOD-DAMNED wars in the first place. I would have liked to have said more four-letter words up there! Oh, well. I said what I wanted to say. I wanted to pay homage to the mothers of the world. And I very, very seriously think that if mothers ruled the world we wouldn't be sending our children off to be slaughtered. Too bad. That's a shame. And I think I probably shouldn't have said the 'god' in front of the 'damn.' If they bleep it, oh, well. I'll just say it somewhere else."

YOU GO GIRL!!! SAY IT SOMEWHERE ELSE...AGAIN...AND AGAIN...AND AGAIN!!! GEORGE'S GESTAPO CAN'T SILENCE ALL OF "WE THE PEOPLE", ALL OF THE TIME!!!

SAY the "F" word"!!! It's the ONE magical word in Webster's Dictionary that can describe PAIN, PLEASURE, HATE & LOVE.

"FUCK, FUCK, FUCK" is better SAID, than DONE to our country, the middle east, and THE WORLD!!!

Stay safe, healthy and happy,
Love, Loretta

Blaming this loss on the democrats is stupid. After all they hold all of a ONE VOTE majority. After elections next year they'll have plenty of votes to stop this war so the repubs better enjoy it while they can. The public wants the war to stop and the dipshits that keep fighting legislation to bring it to an end are just cutting their own throats. Just like Larry "twinkletoes" Craig many of them are up for re-election next year. With a higher body count and no positive results they can kiss their asses goodbye with the American voter.

Thanks to Jim Webb and Chuck Hagel--you did your best for the troops, boys--it will not be forgotten. Also thanks to Smith, Snowe, Collins, Sununu, and Coleman for crossing the aisle on this amendment.

Pervy, diaper-boy Vitter votes against the troops.

Nasty, anonymous-gay-sex Craig votes against the troops.

Gawd, what a collection of icky Republicans.

here's the latest Zogby results which republicans in Congress might want to look at, this is AFTER Petraeus No Report.

"The public mood is not just dark. What's darker than dark?" Zogby said. "The mood is getting ugly."

"President George W. Bush and the U.S. Congress registered record-low approval ratings in a Reuters/Zogby poll released on Wednesday"

73 percent calling foreign policy either fair or poor.

Most of the polling was done after a speech by Bush and testimony to Congress by the top commander in Iraq, Gen. David Petraeus, indicating the United States would make some reductions but planned to keep high troop levels in Iraq for the foreseeable future.

Only 29 percent of Americans gave Bush a positive grade for his job performance, below his worst Zogby poll mark of 30 percent in March. A paltry 11 percent rated Congress positively, beating the previous low of 14 percent in July."

Force the filibuster. Make them defend this ridiculous stance for as many days as necessary. Publicize it! Show who really supports the troops! Stop being whimps!

What do Democrats have to lose? They've been losing day in and day out to a bunch of reprobates.

Filibuster.

Yes, this is how Repubs support the troops. The Dems should keep bringing Webb's amendment again and again and again and again . . .

So instead of insulting blacks who don't vote Repubs despite be desportionately represented in the military, you should thank us for supporting the troops! This is one of those issues all Americans have.

Last month I posted that Warner, Luger etc were mugging for their constituents-but would continue to side with Chimpy McCokespoon-and AGAINST the troops! BINGO! JACKPOT! I NEVER AGAIN want to hear from the various trolls that the repukes "support the troops"! today proved once again that to these chickenhawked assholes....the troops and their families are simply "collateral damage" while we seek that oil revenue deal which gives Chimpy's pals 80% 0f the oil revenues for 99 fucking years! THAT'S the oil deal noone talks about here in America-a complete screw-over for Iraq, their citizens....and our troops. And our treasury and safety. Time to impeach the war criminals!!!!

The Democrats might be more effective if they would adopt this same strategy. I'll scream if I hear Pelosi say "Were a diverse party !" one more time. It's apparently a coded message that actually says, "We have no fucking idea what we are doing !".

To a Fake Republican the only good troop is a dead tired troop?

These Republican Senators are traitors to their own troops.

Hopefully, these assholes have been fully exposed as to what they really are? They should be locked in a room with families and loved-ones of those who suffer their arrogance and sloth.

The Republican motto - "They are ONLY numbers."

Somebody ought to take a full page ad out in the WSJ. FYI these senators voted against fair treatment for soldiers. It would be a handy reference for voters at the next election.
