Norman Hsu, one of the top fundraisers for big-name Democrats, was charged Thursday with swindling at least $60 million from investors and using some of his profits to make illegal donations to political campaigns.

Hsu, who was already facing a fifteen-year-old fraud case in California, was charged in New York with what prosecutors called a "massive" Ponzi scheme that ensnared investors across the country.

Enough, I am tired of this stupid coverage of a crook, when more time should be spent covering criminals like Bush.

I may be wrong but I believe Clintonistas have achieved triple digits those arrested, indicted, convicted or dead since the Arkansas ,Illinois,New York juggernaut decended upon the nation. While you might be able to count on one hand the misdemeanors of the Bush administration. AND...I am disappointed in Hillarme (princess Fiona) HSU $60,000.000.00and she only extorted ..er asked for $850,000.00and perks

Democrats, Republicans...both parties engage in illegal and dubious fund raising, which is the reason we need campaign finance reform once and for all. We need to elect new leadership...not the same old people over and over again.

Paul, Gravel, Kucinich or Biden would be fine...Richardson or Edwards maybe. Anyone who will preside as the Constitution outlines will do. Our forefathers mandated that the Constitution be strictly adhered to for a reason.

Enough politics already. This is a Constitutional republic, not a democracy, and "We the People" need to study the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and the Declaration of Independence and elect our leaders accordingly, framed on our thorough understanding and knowledge of those documents.

Further, voters should not buy in to the bankrupt, corporate-owned media telling us who the Presidential front runners are and who we should vote for. I am tired of hearing newsreaders saying to candidates things such as "You'll never get elected", like George Stephanopolous said to Ron Paul in an ivterview one day, or Bill'O'Reilly says to candidates all the time. Who the hell are these pompous asses to make statements like that?

It is up to the American people to vote for the people that will faithfully and unfailingly carry out the Constitution and laws period. If that means voting for someone the media has determined will not win then so be it. If everyone votes their conscience the dark horse candidates could win and we could regain our Constitutionally determined nation once again, rather than the corporate/military industrial complex Eisenhower warned us against that has run amok since Nixon.

This scandal doesn't matter.

Democrats are being told their candidate is Senator Hillary Clinton, who voted for the war and the patriot act twice.

Most of the liberals posting here on Arianna Huffington's website claim to be against the patriot act and the war, but they will, of course, support Senator Clinton. Perhaps they think she will 'change' after the election.

The fact that she's apparently the recipient of tainted campaign donations doesn't matter to the democratic voters. They're simply voting for the person they're told to vote for.

God bless the troops.

Do you think Hillary's people tried to have Hsu killed with those pills on that train?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 04:56 AM on 09/21/2007

I wonder if Obama tried to have Hsu killed so his blind followers will continue to ignore the fact that he, too, also received Hsu's money?

Bullshit.

Few monarchs on Earth are capable of being as corrupt as Herbert Walker's son.

Hillary would have to devote 100% of her time to being a pirate in order to rival George W's 8 year rampage of wickedness.

You could prop a freakin' mannequin up in the Rose Garden from 2009 to 2015 and the mannequin would be a better president than George W. Bush (and the mannequin would also have higher approval ratings).

interesting analogy..

Al Gore was referred to as wooden.. stuffed shirt.. not like George W. lets have a beer Bush..

so yeah lets say Al Gore was just a too bright wooden kinda guy(not what i think)..

yeah we kinda would be a lot better off.. a hell of a lot better off..

and i'm betting those 3800 dead American soldiers would be better off too.. and those 27000 maimed injured Americans maybe them too..

and our financial situation.. yeah that would be better off too..

but hey that just me wishing we had that wooden Al Gore instead of this piece of shit named George W. Bush..

The Bush-Gore race will go down in history as the presidential election between two former "C-" students.

Also, financially, our economy is still stable. Unemployment down to 4.6%. My 401K is booming I have to admit. But I do worry about the deficit for future folks.

As voters approach the polls we can always remind them that the Clinton campaign is cooperating with the U.S. Attorney's office in its Hsu investigation.

Sure they are, just like they were cooperating with Hsu!

Is Obama's campaign also cooperating, since he's also been a recipient of Hsu's dirty money.

prior to the invasion of Iraq many people were speaking out to warn us that Iraq was not a threat justifying invasion..

from Scott Ritter to Al gore..

before the invasion.. before the vote to invade..

and still Hillary claims she had no way to know..

perhaps she was too busy taking payoffs to notice that C-Span had many shows where-in guests clearly stated that Iraq posed no threat..

perhaps she was too busy at fundraisers to read the bill authorizing Bush to do whatever he wanted..

perhaps she was just lazy..

perhaps she was a fool..

but either way..

on election day.. she won't fool me into voting for her..

and since i am not lazy.. i will get up and go vote.. for Gore or Edwards..

I think most Dems agree that we need a POTUS that has integrity and good judgment.

I was disappointed that Edwards voted AGAINST the Levin amendment, and then voted FOR the War in Iraq on the following day. That's two bad judgments in two days. He did apologize later for his bad judgment.

I would not mind considering an Obama/Edwards ticket.

America, let's do it right this time.

Obama '08

Obama lacks the experience..

and yes Edwards did vote for that authorization bill..

and when he realized how Bush misused the authorization he admitted his mistake and stepped forward to try to correct that mistake..

Edwards shows good judgment by accepting his mistakes and correcting them..

that is why Hillary Bush is wrong.. because she continues to refuse to learn from the mistakes she made..

she will not get my vote..

she continues to behave just like Bush..

Bush refuses to admit he screwed us all with this Iraq shit.. and Hillary refuses to admit she was too lazy to read the bill she voted for.. instead she claims she was tricked.. i don't want anyone who is that stubborn and that unwilling to grow..

and yes i do think she is just another bought off whore that will keep us in the same corrupt mess Bush and republicans have given us..

so NO i will NOT vote for Hillary.. under any circumstances..

Al Gore or John Edwards..

and i am very proud to see so many really good democrats running for President..

the republicans are all shitheads..

I too was v. the war from the outset. And I'm an average person. So explain to me why Hillary and Edwards voted FOR it? Especially Hillary, her husband was prez only 1 1/2 years earlier. So she KNEW intelligence reports on Iraq.

BTW, lets not forget it was BOTH party's pols (especially MOST of the democrats) who criticized Bush41, asking why he did NOT go into Baghdad and finish off Sadaam in the 1st Iraq War. Guess what, he was right. Wasn't he?

And what a wonderful 7 years it has been. Two wars without end; million Iraqis dead; Budget deficit; housing crisis; WH scandals after scandals; the fall of the GOP majority.

The early 2000 under Bush and the GOP leadership has been such a golden period.

I'm sorry. This man is a fraud who took some of his "profits" and gave them to people who he thought might be in position to help him in the future and probably gave some with whom he may have agreed with. He did not give money in order to get political favors, such as no-bid contracts and to het money for, I believe they ae called earmarks, in budget bills. In other works he was a crook before he became a fund raiser. Or a crook who became a fundraiser. I do not know how he gave his donations. If they are below a certain amount each time, all he has to do is answere a few questions, I believe the amount is $1000. There are few questions that rely on his "good faith" answers.
