Hillary Calls Cheney "Darth Vader"

"Vice President Cheney came up to see the Republicans yesterday. You can always tell when the Republicans are getting restless, because the Vice President's motorcade pulls into the Capitol, and Darth Vader emerges," Hillary Clinton said just now at a $100-a-head fundraiser at Town Hall near New York's Times Square, referring to Cheney's efforts shore up Republican congressional support for the Iraq war.

"I'm not invited to their meetings and I don't know what he says or does," she said, in an informal conversation on stage with former Iowa Governor Tom Vilsack and retired General Wesley Clark. "But all the brave talk about bringing our troops home, and setting deadlines, and getting out by a certain date just dissipated."

Furthermore, Darth Vader is a fictional creation. Dick Cheney is all too real, as difficult as that might be to believe.

When Cheney made his famous statement about "in its last throes", Hillary came back with the rejoinder, "Things are winding down". For a long time she was on the same page as Cheney. Be that as it may, as several have pointed out here, she must not have seen the Star Wars movies because Darth Vader is not the best description of Cheney even though scores of people before Hillary have used it. Some staffer came up with that, and everyone is making over it as if it's the cleverest utterance ever while Barack Obama's excellent tax reform plan is being buried or called socialistic (CNN's Robin Hood). Some staffer also fed her "suspension of disbelief" which was plagiarized from Samuel Taylor Coleridge. My point is she is running a very superficial and hackneyed campaign.
