Surfing the net has become an obsession for many Americans with the majority of U.S. adults feeling they cannot go for a week without going online and one in three giving up friends and sex for the Web.

A survey asked 1,011 American adults how long they would feel OK without going on the Web, to which 15 percent said a just a day or less, 21 percent said a couple of days and another 19 percent said a few days.

Only a fifth of those who took part in an online survey conducted by advertising agency JWT between Sept 7 and 11 said they could go for a week.

Another startling discovery from this online survey was that American adults overwhelmingly favor Ron Paul among the presidential candidates, and believe that the official 9/11 conspiracy theory is a coverup.

You can have online friends, too, it's like a phone, but, with a keyboard, and moving pictures and words, and stuff. And, I understand they're working on some kind of USB interface for the other thing, there...

Online digi-land can help people, in a lot of ways, be it telework(good for the wallet),
communication with people you can't afford to
go and travel to see, learning something/staying informed, whathaveyou, it's more boon than bane to have th'innernit, so it's not all bad...
