Clinton: I Am Not A Lesbian

First Posted: 03/28/08 03:45 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 01:15 PM ET

CNN:

Sen. Hillary Clinton's sexuality is not the most pressing issue on the presidential campaign trail, but it is likely to get a fair amount of attention on a lazy Friday in the nation's capital.

The New York Democrat tells "The Advocate" that she is not a lesbian, according to a story in Friday's edition of The New York Daily News.

It's a valid strategy, for it forces all other candidates to stand up and declare, "I'm also not a lesbian!"

It's sort of like that scene in Spartacus, except they all stand and bleat, "I am NOT Spartacus!"

This reminds me of an old tale about LBJ that we like to tell in Texas. As the story went, a Democratic Congressional candidate challenging a Republican incumbent came to LBJ for advice. "Call him a pigfucker," LBJ advised.

"I can't do that!" the candidate spluttered.

"Call him a pigfucker," LBJ repeated firmly. "Make him call a press conference and DENY it."

it is a sad day when drudge report "reports" on this supposed issue in a more responsible way than does huffpost. as lbj is supposed to have suggested, describe an opponent as having carnal knowledge of pigs, just so they have to deny it. so you run the denial, just like the republicans would like you to do. and look at the evil string of comments this has engendered. is it the editorial view of huffpost that any democrat would make a better president than any republican -- except for ms. clinton?

Our dollar has fallen to new lows, the Chinese are our financiers, we're in a quagmire in Iraq, and this adolescent question is a front page story?

"Dollar fallen to new low! Chinese financiers and the quagmirw in Iraq. I'm Maria Bartoromo and tonight, presidential contender and hot MILF, Sen. Hillary Clinton of New York, joins me in an interview that most Republican men will mute and imagine as a porn scene."

I am proud of Hillary. For once she didn't try to triangulate.

Are all politicians going to be asked their orientation now? Cuz I'd like to hear Mitch McConnell, David Dreier,Charlie Christ, Lindsey Graham, and Patrick McHenry's answer....pass the popcorn.

Poor Billary. Those vast right-wing conspiracy publications like The Advocate just won't let up on her.

Advocate: Are you a rug muncher?

Billary: Depends on the meaning of "munch".

I don’t care if the next president likes donkey dick as long as they’re smarter than the donkey.

What many of you don’t seem to get is the majority of voters re-elected Bush in 2004! The majority of voters can’t navigate a four way stop. You’re not going to get a president who supports gay marriage or real universal health care. Find a middle ground or be prepared for more of the same under—gag—Fred Thompson.

The donkey dick comment was pretty funny. I'm going to use that one.

Sorry. I tried to cut and paste from Word and it didn't translate punctuation correctly. But you got the gist.

So obvious that this was begun by the right as they are the only ones who would see this as such an abomination and would be the only ones offended by it. This is nothing more than the "Swiftboating of Hillary" and requires no more discussion.....

When I was a student at UW-Madison back in the '80's, it was widely known that Chancellor Donna Shalala, and all of the other 'friends' of Hillary were all lesbians. In fact, Shalala replaced almost all of the college deans with lesbian friends, while still claiming the she "did not live an alternative livestyle". Donna has never come out, and neither will Hillary. Her marriage to Bill is just one more example of her over-whelming desire for power in spite of her own personal sexuality. Hence, Bill gets his on the side.

Is this really someone we want as President?
03:50 AM on 09/22/2007
Okay. The fact that she is supported by a particular group makes her a member. She is clearly a lesbian because she can carry on a conversation like a dyke.
You state, as some personal insight, that a faithful wife and learned stateswoman, actually practices a sex life outside the public view. Quite an accusation.
Her sexual orientation has nothing to do with her competence. As if it was an issue worthy of address.
I personally do not believe she is the best choice , but I will certainly vote for her, against all comers, should she become the nominee.

"My issue with Revelation is partly my issue with scriptural literalism in general. Literalist doctrines make unprovable assertions about the natural world. I tend to agree with Stephen Jay Gould - religion should concern itself with the search for ethical values and spiritual meaning, and leave the empirical constitution of the universe to science."...Susan Jacobi
