God's Attorney Surfaces In Nebraska Lawsuit

The mystery of one response to a lawsuit against God has been solved. Eric Perkins, an attorney in Corpus Christi, Texas, said Friday he filed a response to the lawsuit from Nebraska State Sen. Ernie Chambers. "It's kind of a turn on 'What would Jesus do?'" Perkins said. "I thought to myself, "what would God say?"

"Defendant denies that this or any court has jurisdiction ... over Him any more than the court has jurisdiction over the wind or rain, sunlight or darkness," according to Perkins' response.

This shows the typical response of religionsists to actions against them: To claim to speak for and to know the mind of their god. While subtle, and in this case meant to be benign, I think that shows the problem with religion: it is a product of human kind and it is manipulated by people for their own gain. There is nothing in scripture saying god said these things. So, unless this person is a prophet or a saint, then he is putting words into god's mouth in order to further his own agenda.

Joke or not, this shows the way religious people are willing to manipulate their religion for their own ends. If this man is claiming to know the mind of god in this innocuous issue, what would he claim if, say, all of the Middle East's oil was concerned? Or a permanent Republic majority?

Words like COMMUNITY, COMMUNICATION, COMMUNION, and others - equally rejected by the holier-than-thou red staters. The word COMMUNISM shares the same root with those words.

Read Marx's Communist Manifesto sometime. You will find that true communism does not equate to "totalitarian rule" Josef Stalin style. Of course, this means that you would have to educate yourself with factual information - and we can't have that, can we? Have to "perpetuate the propaganda", right Sanjong?

the aetheists on HuffPo are tiring. If God doesn't exist, why do so many CONTINUE to invest time and effort arguing so?

You don't see rational people wasting their time on Huffpo arguing that Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny don't exist. So why do aetheists feel so dang COMPELLED to argue against the existence of God, in whatever form he she or it (spirit) might take.

I have come to believe that it's because the possibility that there truly IS no God, no heaven, no afterlife punishment, no hell for the Republican hypocrites and the greedy businessmen (HMO's and pharmaceutical companies) of this world is an even scarier thought than the possibility that there is a God, god, whatever.

believers don't stop with simply arguing. They
are using the courts and the legislature, as
well as their vast financial wealth, to push
their lifestyle on all Americans. They demonize
anyone who doesn't take part in their fantastical theatre of the unseen. Anyone with the courage and strength to reject the religion matrix is an agent of the devil. I have no problem with the "quiet people of faith" that you mention. If only there were more of them.
