Best-selling author John Grisham, taking his first major public step in presidential politics by planning to host an event Sunday near his home in Charlottesville, Va., for New York Sen. Hillary Clinton, said the current administration is built around "bad people with evil intent" and contends President Bush played politics as thousands died in Iraq.

Grisham talked about this weekend's event during an interview Thursday to discuss his new book, "Playing for Pizza," a fictional account of a Davenport and University of Iowa football player trying to revive a fractured career in Italy.

"The war is an immoral abomination that we'll pay for for decades to come," Grisham said near the end of a 40-minute telephone interview with The Des Moines Register.

Grisham missed Writing 101: Go easy on the hyperbole.

You see, a hyperbole is like Hitler...

09/23/07 DoD Identifies Army Casualty
Command Sgt. Maj. Jonathan M. Lankford, 42, of Scottsboro, Ala., died Sept. 22, in Baghdad, Iraq, of injuries sustained from a non-combat related incident. He was assigned to the 79th Ordnance Battalion, Fort Sam Houston, Texas.

=======

Another non-combat related incident? Is this a new Pentagon strategy? Every other death in Iraq is now being reported as a non-combat related incident.

Suspicious that the highest non commissioned officer would die of a non combat incident. Was he fragged by his men like they were in Viet Nam?

Hey, you know, I am not a Bushie, but I think
'evil' is over the top, and here's why:
Greenspan just famously announced that yes,
the Iraq war primarily had to do with oil.
That's straight from the former fed chief's mouth to your ear. Iraq. War. Oil.

In one sense, Bush is nothing more than The Poor Bastard Sent Forth To Get More 'Juice' For
Merkuh. Now, this is where it gets kind of
interesting. Once upon a time, 'back in the day', old Jerry Ford and Jimmy Carter got
faced with the same thing, staring down the
OPECkers and crap out some kind of answer.
Their approach was the dreaded Double Nickel,
conservation, Carter on TV looking like Mr.
Rogers, but a sweater WILL keep you warm, and
soup IS good food.

That was back when people were screaming Bloody Murder about paying over a dollar a gallon for gas. Of course back then, it started out at .20/gal or so. Now, the whole thing has gotten Really Stupid.

But, we do live in these 'interesting times', when there's been radical change in the
world for the last century, and likely the
trend will continue. The criticism comes in against Bush for invading a country where there's oil in the ground, instead of saying 'hey, america, park the car and listen to me, there's a Big Problem, here'.

He did, though, move in that direction, and
helped start and promote a program that's supposed to give alternative energy development a Big Kick In The Pants, and for that, I give him Full Props. But, for the war, Big Brickbats.

It's a screwy situation in a screwball world,
and I hope we go 'power green', meaning we
get some awesome things happening in this next decade for energy, so We, The People, can finally call 'over there', and cancel that next
load of oil. "No, really, thanks, hey, we're good, no, really, thanks again, maybe next month?" Something like that...

Eggheads! Slide rules and pocket protectors at the ready! On your mark! Get set! GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since we are in need of an Attorney General now, and Bush will obviously propose another torture loving freak, he should be given a counter proposal: Grisham. And then refuse absolutely to consider anyone else. That is hardball Bush could understand.
Just tell the degenerate bastard that we will have no moree of his stinking proposals of any kind.

This just in....Bush is Biff.

Yes that's right. Bush is Biff. You all remember Biff from the Back to the Future movies.

As sure as Biff changed the reality of every living soul in Episode 2, So has Bush(Biff) done the same by stealing the White House.

I read about it in 'You're Lost Little Girl'

Gore was supposed to win.
We were never supposed to be attacked on 9-11.
The people who died from the anthrax some government agency that undoubtedly sent it were not supposed to die just to point a finger at Sadam.
There was never supposed to be a war.
There was never supposed to be a thieving tax cut aiding in bankrupting this country.

Just imagine what the world would be like had Bush(Biff) and his crusty partner not stolen the White house...

Thank god a semi-prominent public figure has finally had the courage to utter the truth. Smirky McChimp, Darth Cheney and the other criminals running the White House are not well-intentioned but misguided or foolish people; they are evil bastards without any vestige of conscience, morality, compassion or human decency.

Well.

It seems so obvious that all a citizen of the USA needs to do is to know the truth and then tell it.

Not so easy.

Have YOU ever gotten a visit at 1.00 am from a figure in black telling you that your whole professional and personal life is at risk if you speak truth to power?

I would say that this began way before the anthrax attacks. Before the "now I'm the president" statement and before the "compassionate conservative" bullshitr:

Think: "Nacht der langen Messer" and know the subtle effect that Bushco wrought at Dems, true Republicans, and many voices of freedom. It may not have been the same as in 1934, but it was just as effective (and the threat was just as lethal).

Yep. CBS, NBC, ABC, PBS, NPR, BBC, Time-Life, etc., etc...

Ugh.

Has Grisham used this admin as a spring board for a book- if not he should- it'd write itself. Of course it may not become a best seller since it's playing out before our eyes and we all have a pretty good Idea how it might end. Of course he could write it with various conclusions- or just cut to black.

Captain,

While we're scanning the entire Bush/Cheney Conspiracy Apparatus, I think it important to start digging into their parentage. Yes, they have "Founding Fathers" just like we do, only theirs are where the "very bad people" came from:

http://tinyurl.com/2vmpe

Yes, it is our old friend "The Trilateral Commission!!" Of course none of you, including me, hear too much about them because they don't want any of us to start talking about them! So, it is conveniently "left out" of any MSM reportage! Don't believe it? Well, when was the last time you even thought about it? See?

Americans deal with what is on their plate! Who gets to put the things on our plate? Yep, the Newspapers, The TV, The Radio....is that about right? Why would anyone want to talk about anything else? This is just how deeply the "Current Events" from Junior High is ingrained in all of us. You don't think it was an accident, do you?

Think on it a little....or do you really believe that half-wits like "W" have the cerebral fabric to conceive of something as world shaking as this? Yeah....I didn't think so!

When John Grisham talks "Bad Guys" we should make sure he is including ALL the Bad Guys. Go to the following page and scroll down to the second or third entry, the one that talks about the Counsel on Foreign Relations, Bill Clinton, Ms. Albright, et al, and one of the first "invasions of another sovereign state!" This was the Balkans fiasco, which had been planned by the CFR:

Sorry if you think I'm getting too far away from whether John Grisham is just making this noise to sell books, but I think he knows a few things like this whole David Rockefeller inspired "movement."

You might want to copy this fast, because some people are taking my stuff down pretty quickly.
