The shooting deaths of 11 Iraqis and wounding of 12 more, allegedly by private security contractors working for Blackwater USA, has become a case of "he says, she says" in Iraq.

Blackwater claims that the convoy of U.S. embassy officials they were escorting in western Baghdad came under attack, and they returned fire at insurgents.

Of course they shot and shot everyone they could ... business as normal.
They have no fear of any legal consequences. Perhaps the odd individual has some moral second thoughts?
On the Legal front they have nothing to fear.
If you have any doubts, please check the Laws written by P. Bremer and the CPA on behalf of the Iraqi people. Ahem ... I should have said "on behalf of GWB"

Explain why you approve of American mercenaries that are accountable to no one, go on, lets hear it from a troll.

Only a Republican administration could so weaken and misuse the United States Armed Services to the point that hired mercenaries would be considered a rational choice. It is repulsive.
War profiteers are the lowest form of criminal life. No war profiteer is a patriot, they are leeches upon our military and anyone who supports our REAL Troops ought to stand agansit these scum.

--------------

No it doesn't. But but incident on a video-tape doesn't mean that that's all that is happening in Iraq.

The biggest invention of the lying General has been the so called AQI. All Iraqis we torture and kill, including women and children, are labelled as AQI. And Blackwatr is not the only one doing the killing.

We are commitiing crimes against humanity in Iraq.

The video cited in this article has not been released. There are surveillance videos however, from a walled compound run by the Sallyport company.

Here is a surveillance vid of the IED that set off the incident.

Where is our Congress in all this ?? Seems like they could easily end the war by cutting off the funds to the 'contractors', not the troops. Once there was no protection for the big looters, the rest of them could come home or be deployed to say, Afghaistan to nail the perpetrators of 911 as was originally intended.
Silly me to have such a simple approach.

You folks seem awfully willing to jump to conclusions here... Liberal Hatemongers have become the lynchmobs of the new millenium.

If the Blackwater mercs broke the law (and they due have rules that due apply to them under threat of prosecution) then we should expect them to be held accountable.

But there should be due process.

And there is another side of the story that no one appears to be considering...

Ever think that insurgents might ambush a heavily armed patrol and video tape it with an intent to encourage a massive backlash?

You'd almost think Americans were that predictable... wouldn't you?

Of course, none of you "hang-em high" vigilante types could be expected to behave in such a way, now... would you?

And if they are vindicated, will you guys come back and say, "Gee, sorry for all that hatred... we were wrong?"

Defyant? Qbear? Can we count on you?

So they fired first. There will be no consequences. That is a fact of life in the New World Order.

No consequences for the contractors and all the lying, murdering scum that are responsible for this illegal occupation.

Yep, the law that governs our land has become exactly what Bush said it was, "a goddamn piece of paper."

Welcome to the new America, the fascists have won.

The "contractors" are not accountable to the U S Military or Iraqi laws. Gheney's fingerprints are all over that one.

What this administration wants in the Middle East is weakness - both militarily and technically. The ideal is to have them economically dependent on oil revenues, and technically dependent on the West to pump it and build their infrastructures. There are many ways to own a countries. In fact, making the Congress and Senate weak allows them to own this one.

The DickNBush Gestapo, Blackwater, is now exposed. (Where has the MSM been on this for the past 4+ years? With their heads up their A**es again?) Seems there is no limit in DickNBush world to the number of people who are "above the law". Like DickNbush, these are a bunch of incompetent criminal thugs. The investigation of Blackwater needs to very broad and thorough - it will lead directly to the White House.

This administration and everything connected to it is so un-American it's sad. Another downside to this mercenary activity is that this reflects on the people of this country. Sadly, we the people don't seem to have any say in any say in the activities of this administration. We are just as victimized as those being detained in Gitmo and those being murdered in Iraq. The only difference is the guns aren't aimed at us and our bars are invisible. But we are in just as much danger.
