I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Washington Post:

Conventional wisdom dictates that Democratic voters are thrilled with their choices for president, bursting at the seams to rally behind Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (N.Y.), Sen. Barack Obama (Ill.) or whoever gets the party's nod next year.

A recent survey by Democratic pollster Celinda Lake, however, showed Clinton and Obama trailing former New York mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani (R) in the 31 Democratic-held House districts regarded as most imperiled in 2008, and even potentially serving as a drag on those lawmakers' reelection chances.

The question:
"Some people say [your Democratic incumbent] is a strong supporter of Hillary Clinton and will support her liberal agenda of big government and higher taxes if she becomes president,"

The real question:
What asstard would actually answer this question without hanging up, having been totally insulted by it? It's a push-poll question and should have insulted everyone's intelligence.

However this poll has value. As in, how easily can the sample be duped by a pollster and manipulated into saying exactly what the pollster wanted them to say.

Simone and Tom95134 speak the truth. It’s wasn’t even subtle.

"Swing Districts Could Spell Trouble For Dem Presidential Candidates"

Duh, no shit. That's why the current Dems in Office need to stop acting like their neocon buddies, else they will get thrown out in the street too.

Let Hillary stay in the Senate, heck, let her run it instead of Reid.
Maybe she would be good at it.

The country won't survive another GOP/fascist administration and
we need a ticket that has mass appeal, not half negative.

Edwards/Obama would win in forty five states and would inspire
optimism, volunteerism and a rebirth of POPULISM!!! The best
antidote for corporate fascism.

If they drop their absolute support for an AMNESTY for ILLEGAL aliens, THAT 'ticket' could almost declare victory NOW. At that point, they could shift all focus to the scandal which the dissembling, incompetent disaster called the Bush Administration!

Who the hell wrote the questions for the poll? The RNC, i.e., "...[Clinton's] liberal agenda of big government and higher taxes...".

What a farce!

.
The party that will break any law, commit any crime, tell any lie and destroy any person to win an election will be in full slime-mode for the next election. To ensue this effort by the Repugs to distort the election doesn't succeed like a swift-boat, the Dems must nominate somebody that has a chance to successfully fight off their scum-suc'king lies. Conniving Calculating Clinton (highest "disapproval" of all candidates at more than 50%) and "flak"-ignorant, Empty-Suit, Rezko-Partner-in-Crime O-BOMBA are EASY TARGETS. Fortunately there are Dems running and unannounced that have so much more substance than these two losers that the Repugs will at least have to get somewhat creative to slime them. As the next Democratic president will be the one that will have to clean up the DickNBush mess in the US and throughout the world, great care is needed in getting the right person for this monumental job. The Dems can and must do better than Conniving Clinton and Empty-Suit BO.

I'm
planning
on
voting
FOR
Hillary
in
the
Florida
primary
and
AGAINST
her
in
the
General
Election,
hoping
she'll
get
her
egotistical
ass
kicked
and
America
will
be
rid
of
her
FOREVER

The Democratic Party needs someone with LEADERSHIP ability, a VISION for America and CORE VALUES. Al Gore has ALL THREE of these attributes, Hillary has NONE of them.

The 2008 Election will be for the Democrats with Hillary what the 1964 Election was for the Republicans with Goldwater: A toilet flush of an ugly turd...

The biggest problem the Dems have is NO PLAN for anything. Hillary is beginning to come up with some ideas. I know a lot of people don't like her, but I HOPE people will vote for substance over hype--but then we have had a LONG history of the opposite too!

Sorry Hillary haters but the question in the article, ""Some people say [your Democratic incumbent] is a strong supporter of Hillary Clinton and will support her liberal agenda of big government and higher taxes if she becomes president," ..." is not a poll but a push-poll. The article did not say if any presidential candidate would help down-ticket given the anti-Democratic tone to the question. Much ado over nothing.

So is Hillary liberal or moderate?

Depends on who you ask I guess.

This is ludicrous...what is it with these people who ascribe behaviors and characteristics of Hillary that is just so wildly stupid, it makes one laugh. Both the left and the right just become irrational when it comes to Hillary. What a waste of energy.

Here in Indiana, where we felt the anti-Kerry backlash on our ticket in '04, a State Representative (and fellow Edwards supporter) recently said to me, "Not only do I like Edwards the best, he is the only one who would not kill us [our ticket] in Indiana in '08".

I think this conversation is being repeated in many states across the country. We cannot simply say, "anyone but a Republican". We must have the right candidate who can win the election and win in every region of the country. I believe that is John Edwards and I believe that there is a silent majority out there in Iowa, Nevada and elsewhere that will bear that out.

Talk with your State Rep. after the convention. If HIllary

gets the nomination and he doesn't back her then he

is a member of the GOP in disguise.

While I am not a Hillary supporter at this time, I am

well aware of her intelligence and strengths to hold

the Office of President. If she gets the nomination,

she will get my vote and I will gladly give it to her.

THIS IS THE CONVERSATION GOING ON ACROSS AMERICA AND NOT THE ONE YOUR STATE REP. GAVE TO YOU.

WE WILL PROUDLY SUPPORT THE DEMOCRATIC NOMINEE. PERIOD.

If the Democratic Party's leaders would support the enforcement of EXTANT, immigration law--and reject a fig-leafed AMNESTY for ILLEGALS, that party's candidate whoever he/she was would be unbeatable. IMMIGRATION policy will mitigate the effect of the Iraq war disaster....

If the MSM paid as much attention to the dozens of important issues as they do meaningless polls, the public might benefit by their reporting. How meaningless is this poll? It presumes Giuliani will be the GOP candidate, which right now isn't anything I'd be willing to bet on. We should collectively be ashamed that so much money is wasted on polls when it could be put to better us.

No one and I do mean no one has a fucking clue what will happen in 2008. As I write this, there are many variables that affect the 2008 election: The economy, the Iraq war, continued GOP scandals, another terrorist attack, candidate performance over the next year and who are selected as running mates to name but a few rather important issues.

The MSM's performance continues to be pathetic.

Isn't saying that Sen. Clinton and Sen. Obama are trailing Rudy Giuliani in certain Congressional Districts, for an election to be held in about a year and two months...

...a little like saying the New York Yankess are 162 games out of first place, for the 2008 AL East title?

Great point...media speculation and coloration as well as pure bunk...they try to tilt the opinions of readers a certain way, put it in their ear why the Dems are in trouble, when nothing could be further from the truth. Save a colossal blunder or a complete meltdown by Dems, the Repigs are going to become a former party in '08...you'll be hearing, "Republican Who?"

Repigs-->DOA in '08.

"thrilled" with the candidates??!!?

Did the WaPo chain these reporters up in the basement and force them to watch Faux News 24/7 for the summer?

The only person not a registered Republican who's "thrilled" about the current field is Obama Girl.

If the Chinese hadn't screwed up the novelty market with all their chemical contamination scandals, you could probably get rich selling nose clips to Democratic voters.

Sheesh.
