Fox's Anchorwoman was a carefully crafted take-off of CBS News with Katie ("Tarting-up, Dumbing-Down") Couric. The reason the fox show failed is, like Couric, it was shallow, fully predictable and boring.

At least the fox execs had enough sense to realize their failure and flush their Anchorwoman. The tragedy here is that, once again, CBS execs have proven too stupid to do the right thing, so the real "Anchorwoman", fluff-master Couric, is allowed to continue polluting the airwaves.

On CNN, Lou Dobbs speaks out. But he's on early, maybe you can't catch him. He's on at 6 Eastern, I think, as he's on at 4 Mountain where I am, and therefore 3 Pacific unless they stagger the times. He's great. Better than Olberman.

The pathetic part of this article is the need for the ridiculous Couric's rep to shoot back a nasty comment to Miss USA.

At the end of the day, the sad truth is Katie Couric = Miss USA (read: TV entertainment)
