Networks Reject Rice Interviews: "No Longer Seems To Be A Key Player On The War"

Over the past two years, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has been on the Sunday talk shows 30 times, making her the most second frequent guest after Sen. Joe Biden (D-DE).

But that may be changing. In his Washington Post column, Howard Kurtz reveals that Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is no longer a "prize catch" for the Sunday talk shows. She was recently turned down by both CBS and NBC:

The secretary of state has always been considered a prize catch for the Sunday talk shows. But when the White House offered Condoleezza Rice for appearances eight days ago, after a week focused on Iraq, two programs took the unusual step of turning her down.

Executives at CBS and NBC say Rice no longer seems to be a key player on the war and that her cautious style makes her a frustrating guest.

Of course Condi has been pushed aside. Think about it. The "Adm. William Fallon's 'Containment' Tour" just ended and Condi wasn't even part of that. Odd? The wouldn't one think that Condi would be 'marching' around the Gulf building a coalition against Iran? She's not...Fallon is.

She's useless. Numbnuts talked her into taking Secretary of State after the 2004 election swiping. She's running out the clock until Daddy gives her a plush gig at the Carlyle Group. Then she can draw a fat check and fuck up the country without having to worry about going on the talk shows.

Why are so many responses focused on Rice's looks? Can't we condemn her role in this administration's immoral and disastrous policies without reference to her physical appearance? Sexist atttacks on wrongminded women (including the reference to her as a "bitch") don't do anything to end the war or further the cause of justice abroad or equality for women at home.

It is not enough to have destroyed Iraq, now we are destroying our own society and economy.

Rice tenure with this administration shows her lack of capacity to strike a deal in any front. She has been set a side by Cheney and cabal as a useless entity.

Much like Dick Cheney, her rhetoric never changes, despite the fact that it has been proven false time and again. It IS boring, and it is futile to constantly provide a forum for their repetitive nonsense. Rice is a complete sell-out, a hack, an embarrassment. Pity someone so well-educated and eloquent would allow herself to become the Bush administration's "step-n-fetch-it." Bush poisons everything he touches.

First...THE POPE declines RICE'S overture for an audience several days ago. She was stuck with a lowly cardinal-an underling. The POPE does not think anything of her or DUMBYA.

Second-she's getting bopped from news shows and interviews in general. After 7 years of regurgitated bromides and denials adn generally moreof the same, CONDI is passe; boring and definitely becoming overdone.

This woman has a black heart. Propping up an immoral foreign policy, complete with the most egregious criminality in the history of the Republic; lying about 9/11 adn IRAQ; thumbsucking with a degenerate, evil president. History will not be kind to you. It already has been reaming Colin Powell adn BUSH isn't even out of office yet.

I am assuming there will be absolutely damning pieces and intensely critical historical afterthoughts on your behavior and tenure in this most corrupt of administrations, hopefully this nation will ever see.
