Think Progress:

Over the past two years, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has been on the Sunday talk shows 30 times, making her the most second frequent guest after Sen. Joe Biden (D-DE).

But that may be changing. In his Washington Post column, Howard Kurtz reveals that Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is no longer a "prize catch" for the Sunday talk shows. She was recently turned down by both CBS and NBC:

The secretary of state has always been considered a prize catch for the Sunday talk shows. But when the White House offered Condoleezza Rice for appearances eight days ago, after a week focused on Iraq, two programs took the unusual step of turning her down.

Executives at CBS and NBC say Rice no longer seems to be a key player on the war and that her cautious style makes her a frustrating guest.

"would you buy a used car from her"?

HELL NO!
HELL NO!
HELL NO!
HELL NO!
HELL NO!
HELL NO!

Judge Judy would eventually have to get involved.

Condoleezza's Versace pants should be on fire.

Condi should resign. She could regain something of her credibility and soul. Instead, she will go down with the ship and into the history books as the greatest failure in the Middle East as Secretary of State.

She is just pathetic, pathetic to say the least. She has not been able to score a single diplomatic success. No wonder the Pope told her to stay away and instead he received ex-president Fox (Mexico) to his vacation house.

I hope she has the guts to call it quits.

Pathetic, simple pathetic.

No longer a key player? Was she ever?

Doesn't she do diplomacy and stuff like that? Ha, ha. We don't need no stinkin' diplomacy! Let the troops do it all!

Ding Ding, bluesnot wins the prize. The secretary of state is our top diplomat. We are not talking to anybody, we are doing whatever we damn well please. In this administration her post is purely ceremonial.

It must be rather lonely and dark in her Foggy Bottom office and it seems increasingly evident that she has neither the ear of the President nor the acumen to convey the opinion of the State Department to either a national nor international audience. Again it seems that VP Cheney has succeeded in marginalizing the government's professionals and in bringing to bear his nefarious world view. Unfortunately for US foreign policy, Ms. Rice will continue to be its face and voice and likely articulating positions she herself does not fully support. At this point, the only public service she can perform is to resign if she truly does not support the escalation of a war against Iran but that caliber of public servant seems to have gone extinct back in the Nixonian era when Attorney General Thornburg and his deputy Rucklehaus resigned rather than enact Nixon's agenda. Resignation was a once honorable declaration of public service, now it seems only an exit in disgrace.

You're right, factanonverba.
The fact that corporate media has 'marginalized' her tells me a lot.

This is really going to get ugly in the next two - six weeks. Fuque.

Biden was most popular with them because he could be trusted to give the proper Likudnik line. (Such as his "solution" for Iraq.)
Condi was popular because she was a Black woman carrying water for the racist Bush regime and Israel. That made any attack on what she said a racist or anti-woman thing, as well as being anti-Semitic and unAmerican. But she has been so ineffective at her job that she has lost value as well as novelty.

I don't really care what the media headline-hounds think of Dr. Rice and what she is doing in her official capacity as Secretary of State.

I would point out, however, that it is not the job of the Secretary of State to "be a key player in, or on, 'the war.'"

Au contraire, it is the job of the SecState to provide the President with advise and all the information needed to make intelligent decisions about the effect of his actions on international relations. In case you haven't looked, WAR has a real bad effect on international relations.

Rice is a lapdog.

Her official capacity is to maintain and keep the peace among the peoples and nations, something obviously she is not capable to do it.

If you want a reason why she is old news check out this http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x1893326
The bitch is a god damn lier and the networks that put her one like a paid regular are is a sense a party to the Bush/Cheney conspiracy.
Alas, depending on one's taste looking at Rice walking away may be her greatest worth.

it's taken this long for this collection of fuckups to realize they know less about waging a war than they do about trying to run a government. The wheels on the bus go round and round and right over Condi.

You know, like her or not, she is an important player in American foreign affairs. And especially this dumb war. So the networks are WRONG. Besides, I thought we lived in a democracy that gave ALL sides equal time. I guess not. NPR will not run a Bush interview. Now they can dislike the guy all they want and thats their right, but until Jan/09 he is going to be the guy sitting in the White House. So he should be heard. If for no other reason we might learn what his next blunder is.

Where does the Bush family keep finding minorities that have actually achieved something and get them to carry their water?

Not just Rice, but also Clarence Thomas, Colin Powell and (a stretch) Alberto Gonzales. It is so obvious Bush et al will not just abandon, but also attack and treat like trash any of them that dares to try and show some independence (now that's where Gonzo shines - he proved he's a lapdog to the bitter end).

As a minority (hispanic) with very good fortune (a family that could provide me with a College education), I think I speak for most minorities (and for many others that dare not say it because it might be politically incorrect): where do they keep finding these people willing to shit on their own in order to please the master? It sure is embarrassing that I can be lumped into a group that includes the likes of Gonzo.

All networks, whether it be NBC, ABC, CBS, NPR, etc. determine who they want to put on the air. This is not the first time that a network has decided that something from the White House (the Bush interview) was not NEWS WORTHY. NPR is not the private megaphone of the Bush propaganda machine. For that Bush/Cheney has to go to FAUX Noise Channel.

Condisleeza Rice has been nothing but a shill for Bush. She was never qualified to be National Security Advisor and she sure as hell is nothing more than a shill as SecState. She's never been able to stand up to Cheney without Bush's hand in her back.
