More than 1.1 million users participated in the Internet's first "mashup" or create-your-own presidential debate, according to data released Sunday by Yahoo, one of the sponsors of the event.

Two weeks ago, The Huffington Post, Slate and Yahoo invited each of the Democratic candidates for president in 2008 to sit down with PBS host Charlie Rose for one-on-one interviews about four topics: Iraq, education, health care and a "wild card" question from comedian Bill Maher.

The interviews were then uploaded onto Yahoo's Jumpcut Web site, where Mashup users could then manipulate the video into their own unique debate. Users could focus on the candidates and questions of their choice, and ignore those that did not interest them.

Comedian Bill Maher proved to be the biggest draw: his "wildcard" question generated the most response, with 42 percent of users viewing his videos. 34 percent of users viewed the Iraq videos, the second-most watched topic.

New York Sen. Hillary Clinton garnered the most viewers in the Mashup: 35 percent of all of the clips viewed belonged to her. Illinois Sen. Barack Obama came in second with 25 percent, followed by former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards with 13 percent.

But in an unscientific poll hosted on the Mashup site, which asked users who they would vote for, Obama came in first with 35 percent, followed by Clinton with 31 percent.

Other interesting findings:

• In Iowa, which is scheduled to hold the first contest of the presidential primary season, viewers showed the most interest in Iraq: 41 percent of the video clips watched in Iowa dealt with the war.
• Obama's audience skewed younger: 41 percent of his audience was under the age of 35 - compared to 36 percent for Clinton.
• Iowa women were most interested in John Edwards' position on health care.
• Older Iowans gravitated towards candidates' answers about Iraq.
• While older audiences focused on Iraq and health care, younger Mashup viewers were more interested in education and Bill Maher's "wildcard" question.
