Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad announced Tuesday that his country's disputed nuclear program is closed as a political issue, and said Tehran will disregard U.N. Security Council resolutions imposed by "arrogant powers" to curb its nuclear program.

Instead, he told world leaders at the U.N. General Assembly that Iran has decided to pursue the monitoring of its nuclear program "through its appropriate legal path," the International Atomic Energy Agency which is the U.N.'s nuclear watchdog.

Refuse unlawful orders to attack Iran

I appeal to the conscience of US Air Force and US Navy pilots and military personnel who command cruise missiles and pilot bombers and those who plan the missions for the pilots and missile commanders. I ask that they refuse what I believe will be unlawful orders to attack Iran.

While refusal to drop bombs may initially draw punishment and the loss of one's military career, those who refuse will save their soul, their conscience and will prevent another criminal action in the name of our country by the Bush administration.

--Ann Wright, An Appeal to Conscience to Those Who Would Bomb Iran (Feb. 13, 2007)

(Ann Wright retired from the US Army Reserves as a Colonel after 29 years. She resigned from the US diplomatic corps in March 2003 in opposition to the Iraq war.)

Am I the only one who became alarmed when France drastically departed on its foreign policy recently when it threatened to attack Iran?

Turns out the new president of France, Sarkozy is a Zionist who apparently comes from a long line of Zionists.

http://www.ajn.com.au/news/news.asp?pgID=3162

I knew he was Jewish, I dont care.

After Sarkozy began threatening Iran with nuclear annihiliation, I became alarmed and did some research.

He's a Zionist.

Oh boy, are we in trouble on this planet.

ZenJu's post at 3:19 pm is a good example of a zionist trying to turn the focus of a discussion to Israel. The topic of this thread is not Israel. This thread is about Ahmadinejad at the United Nations. The primary interested parties are the Pentagon versus the Iranian people.

The ignorance and sheer vitriol eliciting by any HuffPo article that has anything even remotely to do with Israel or Jews is fascinating and appalling. You get anti-Semitic liars and trash like "Boobaloo" and "BuyRubles," with their textbook obsessions (see their profiles, or people whom the American educational system has clearly failed in their gross misunderstandings of the Middle East situation (like "Lydia" and her rather bizarre interpretation of history). You people make me ever more confident that Homo sapiens doesn't have much longer as a species.

Zenju, you pedophile.

All of the protestors were either Jewish Zionists or Christian Zionists and they were all there for one reason: to support Israel in its demands that iran be destroyed.

YOu are right about one thing: we humans are going to be extinct if something isnt done about Zionists and Israel very soon ... before the nuclear bombs start flying out of Tel Aviv.

If I were Ammadinejad I would do and spend every euro I had to obtain as many nuclear weapons as I could as a deterrent against the sick neocon SOB's in Washington and Tel Aviv.I would also target Tel Aviv,Paris,London, the oil fields of Saudi Arabia, the Straits of Hormuz and the very, very, very expensive US Embassy in Iraq.Everytime I hear or see these lunatics beating the war drum just as they did in 2002 I would let these clowns know that if the tried the same bullshit like they pulled off in Iraq they would be the sorriest MF's in the world.I don't honestly think that anything short of this is going to prevent Bush or his likely successor Hillary baby from trying to destroy Iran.American politicians all pray at the same Lobby.

The more I see and hear Ahmadinejad, the more he sounds like the whack jobs in the Bush Administration. They both have a similar contempt for the United Nations though Ahmadinejad has been able to articulate it much better than Bush. Bush has beadier eyes and a smirk and a veep with a snarl, Little is known of Ahmadinejad's vice president.

We cripple, ignore and destroy the United Nations and then we're upset when no other nation respects the international governing body?

Nope. The order has been totally screwed on seemingly every thread. Some of the stuff which was on page 1 is now on page 3

It's somewhat less noticable on some threads than on others, but seems to be universally true

The fact that the U.S. and Israel will bomb Iran is really no longer a question. It is evil and insane, but it is also clear that the U.S. public will not do what their Congress should have, which is remove Cheney et al. from power, using any means necessary.

So the only thing left to do is figure out how to profit from it. This is a horrible thing to say, but it is also very pragmatic.

My guess is that once the bombing starts, Iran will get off quite a number of shots at tankers near the Straits of Hormuz. Attacking the U.S. battle fleets, while looking heroic, has much lower chance of success than sinking tankers in the two 1 mile channels in the Straits. Iran could essentially stop all traffic, which accounts for 20% of the world's daily oil flow.

So Iran uses its Silkworms and Soviet made SN-22's (extremely deadly), and oil soars to 150 bucks a barrel.
What then? I would think that Exxon and the other oil companies would be a good buy before this starts. But what else will happen in the global economies? I imagine we will see slow down in some countries as their oil supply is cut. India and China, as well as most of Europe, get at least some of their supply from what moves through the Straits.

So the question is if we start seeing slowdowns in these economies, what would be a good investment to be in before this madness starts.
What investments are the Cheney's and Bush's of the world getting into now so they can profit from the upcoming attack?

Granted, if this attack is short and effective, then the slowdown is relatively short. But given the incompetence of the U.S., I can see the Iranians dragging out attacks on the shipping lanes for some time.

madprophet--A criminal bombardment of innocent Iranians is not a done deal. It is people who want to commit such an atrocity, and people can be stopped.

Planning how to profit is to circle Iran like buzzards.

Everyone should take a few moments to view the slideshow at the link below. This is the beautiful country and these are the beautiful people that warmongers are hell-bent on destroying:

wars4profit--I wish I could share your optimism, but I simply don't see any other outcome. This is the same path of misinformation and belligerence that lead to Iraq. BTW, today the entire U.S. contingent at the UN walked out when the Iranian president (I would mispell his name if I tried typing it) began his speech. They left a single low-level note-taker (read from Fox news today).

The U.S. has stopped listening, and diplomacy was never really on the table.

Is my original question opportunistic and ghoulish? Yes.
Is it also pragmatic? Yes.

I am heavily invested in the markets today, and don't want to see my life savings wiped out, especially while a elite few make immense amounts of blood money.

There is nothing I can do to stop this attack, and I cannot agree with you that there is enough public support at a grassroots level to stop the evil regime. I am not talking about Iran either.

So me profiting from the attack is the ONLY positive I can see right now. Don't get me wrong, if Cheney got hit by a truck, or had a heart attack, I would be the first one up cheering, because the U.S war posture would likely fade away.

But I have to live in the world and face facts, as terrible as they are.

An Open Letter to the New Generation of Military Officers Serving and Protecting Our Nation

By Dr. Robert M. Bowman, Lt. Col., USAF, ret., National Commander, The Patriots

(Below is an excerpt. The complete letter may be found at
http://thepatriots.us/

I contend that should some civilian order you to initiate a nuclear attack on Iran (for example), you are duty-bound to refuse that order. I might also suggest that you should consider whether the circumstances demand that you arrest whoever gave the order as a war criminal.

The USA purposefully has a civilian in charge of the military, so your statement about a civilian order is a questionable nuance.

Hillary can go fuck herself. She is nothing more than an AIPAC whore as was her old man. That SOB pardoned ,a fugitive from justice,at the request of the Israeli Embassy. The two of them have been sucking the Israeli cock for a long time.
If I were Ahmadinejad I would get all the nuclear weapons I could lay my hands on before this bitch gets in office.I always notice that there never, never any questioning of the 200 plus Israeli nuclear weapons by anyone in the US.They are not signitaries to the IAEA and they are the most dangerous bunch of killers in the Middle East.Unfortunately, the US press dumps so much bullshit propaganda about the Middle East that it is difficult to get the facts.Thank God for "Democracy Now" and the "Link Network".CBS,ABC,NBC,Fox and CNN all push the Israeli line of shit.I watched the Iranian president speak both at Columbia and the UN.I think this man is absolutely brilliant compared to the moron war criminals running this country. As for the president of Columbia the man is an absolute pandering whore. If I were a student at Columbia I would immediately transfer or if a graduate I would burn my diploma.WAKE UP ASSHOLES!

Well....now we know why all of a sudden France is making threats to nuke Iran:

French President Nicolas Sarkozy "... comes from a long line of Jewish and Zionist leaders and heroes..."

Its not Sarkozys jewish ancestry that is the problem, it is his virulent Zionist heritage that is the problem.

Here is article outlining Sarkozys Zionist roots written by the Australian Jewish News:

http://www.ajn.com.au/news/news.asp?pgID=3162

Holy crap, we're headed to nuclear war.

The Regime is going to war in Iran ? No, this is the first time I have ever heard or read such a possibility existed?

AIPAC and PNAC must be ecstatic. Are you telling me that Bill Kristol is happy with Hillary and Bill ? How about Rupert Murdoch?
How about international corporate elitists? How about Rob Walton and Wal-mart and Tyson Foods? Oh yes.....I forgot that Hillary was on board of directors of both Tyson and Wal-mart!!

Despite protestations to the contrary, I truly believe that the only decision that the Regime has not yet made about January 20, 2009 is whom will take the oath of office as vice president before President Hillary Clinton takes the oath of office? That final poll and pulse will be taken at the DLC National Convention (aka DNC National Convention -falsely of course) minutes before the delegates "choose" their veep nominee.
