MSNBC's David Schuster shared some very interesting news with his viewers last night: He said that pro-war GOP Senators who are up for reelection have repeatedly refused to go on MSNBC and have directly turned down multiple invitations to appear on the network and discuss the war.

We can hope that the silence of these Senators is defeaning but even if it isn't there's the WWW. It's difficult for a politican to hide his views on any issue these days.

Actually they should realize that everyone realizes how hypocritical and slimy they are! By getting on TV they will just help endorse that view but it will be water of a duck's back!

Alternatively, they can wait another 13-14 months and they won't have to bother at all: almost all of these rubberstamps will be voted out of the Senate by then!

I'd send every one of these pro-war ass-clowns to Iraq to fight.

I would also send their pro-war ass clowns to Iraq but I would also send the gutless democrats who won't vote to withhold funds for the war with them.

It isn't that Republicans don't want to talk about the war, they want to remove it from the view of the American public. They want to downplay it so they can get the base settled down. Republicans want their base to forget about the war so they have a clean slate to play out the next hot button, family values issue. Gotta get that base all riled up so they turn out and vote!!

Republican voters need to wake up and see how they are manipulated by the people they trust.

Personally, I think this is great! Imagine all the RW Rethugs who can't go on TV during the 2008 campaigns because they are afraid to support their convictions. They will be burned at the media stake, and I will gladly provide any barbecue sauce that is needed. And I like my meat cooked slowly over a very high flame, thank you. Let's make those warmongering MFers (to quote Billo at the Harlem restaurant) squirm!!!!

Won't need much BBQ sauce for Boehner, he is half cooked already.

Did you catch the Kentucky rep-R, she could talk on point about the newspaper ad, but when asked about the last soldier who died from her district, yep you guessed it, she couldn't put a name to this young person. He was just 18. Boy did she look like an ass.

oh...she only looked like an ass because she is one...that's all

That's because these chickenshits don't want to have to explain why they are still backing Bush. They are to chicken to answer the hard questions from the media if they are up for re-election. Over 70% of the general public is not in favor of this WH or it's war. To back it, well what can I say, except "chickenshit losers". They won't vote to bring our troops home, nor will they vote to give the troops equal time home as they spend on the frontlines.

But they will vote to express how they feel about an ad placed in a national newspaper!!!! Talk about avoiding the real issues.

My theory is that the politicians backing Bush are being blackmailed. All the wiretapping is paying off for the administration. They got all the dirt on EVERYONE. McConnell probably thinks no one knows he is gay, and has been taking lots of money for "favors". Lott, well, maybe he thinks we all would be shocked to know he wears a rug. Boehner the Roasted One, gave out checks from oil companies on the floor of the house!!!! It's anybody;s guess what secrets he hides. Maybe all the tears are for himself.

Hell, you might be right about this.

All that warrantless surveillance probably turned up plenty on the GOP guys and gals--stuff they'd rather keep quiet.

Rats always scatter when you turn on the light. They head for the bathrooms and to the hookers when they want to have sex, they make shady little underhanded deals with the defense contractors;now they have to make sure they don't piss Daddy off because he controls the money for their re-election campaigns. So, they have to pretend to be for the war, but not get too close to President Numbnuts, who is running his I.Q. in the polls. What a bunch of sorry good-for-nothing bastards.

Cholera epidemic, in the words of the chicken hawk, commando-in-chief, BRING IT ON! The misery index in the US and in Iraq of this convulted, phony "war" hasn't even begun to reach its zenith in the numbers who will be maimed, killed, starved, diseased and deprived of their homes, livelihood and country. We, as a nation are paying dearly for this foreign policy debacle by sacrificing the lives of our fighting men for a lie, heading for bankruptcy in an endless war, and living in a sorely divided nation, constantly bickering and arguing across social and political lines while the majority of citizens languish in futility seeking competent and honest leadership in order to save what is left of our democracy and economy.

Is there any reason the various media could not report on the incidents like this and name all the names. I do hope when votes are finally taken, all of the media, particularly the constituents of these individuals would be made quite visably aware of their votes.

Saying that they fear greater bloodshed in Iraq is a thought being iterated and reiterated by those very individuals who spoke vividly about WMD's and Mushroom Clouds. Why believe them this time when they have so frequently lied.

Why do they so consistently vote their fears?

I would call them cowards, but that would be redundant.

Why do they have to show up? Just run all the clips, and statistics of their votes, to show what they are all about. If they want to defend themselves, they will show up. Otherwise, it is to be taken as gospel truth. Hopefully, they will be voted out of their cushy jobs at the next election. Just make a series of their speeches, and statements, that is all that would be needed.
