DC Examiner :

Curious to know how exactly Henry Hager proposed to First Daughter Jenna Bush? The latest People magazine, which hits newsstands this Friday, has the details.

"It was 4 a.m. and Jenna Bush just wanted to sleep. She and her boyfriend, Henry Hager, were camping out in Maine's Acadia National Park, Aug. 15, and Hager had woken her up in the dark. His plan? To hike to the top of Cadillac Moutain, the highest peak on the East Coast. Jenna got up grogily, and the nature-lovers set off, wearing head lamps to light the way. As they neared the summit, Hager, 29, suggested stopping for an energy bar. Then as the sun began to rise, he proposed. 'I was in shock,' says Jenna, her custom-made platinum-set round diamond-and-sapphire ring now sparkling on her left hand. 'I acted the complete opposite of how I thought I would: I was quiet. He said, 'Are you exited?' I was like, 'I don't know!'"

You'd think Henry would take one look at Grandma Barb, think that's what Jenna's going to look like someday and run like Hell for the nearest exit....

well let's see since you want to be vain.

Suppose a man is about to marry Chelsea and looks at Hillary.

Another man is about to marry Jenna and looks at Laura.

Who is going to be more afraid. I thought so you juvinile little prick.

Chelsea, EVERY time. Laura is so zoned out I wonder how many pills she takes a day? Plus, the Clinton family has something the Bush's don't BRAINS and CLASS!!!. Brains over hillbillies every time.

One look at gandma Barb? No, please, anything but that! Just gouge my eyes out and hand me a white cane!

But let's remember, Henry is a Repug. He doesn't look at what grandma looks like, he looks at the bank account. If he plays his cards right and keeps his sexual proclivities out of the public eye (this guy was, after all, one of Karl Rove's piss-ant brown shirts, so you KNOW that heterosexual behavior with human beings is probably not his "thing"), he stands to make a bundle by marrying into this family.

"Lady" Laura is a drunken driver murderer/killer. That's Class?

And her mothering skills suck too. She has raised two

daughters with such high moral values. LOL

Google for yourself.

Is this a distraction or an attempt to shine up the Bush family reputation?

Is getting engaged an achievement?

What ever happened to her teaching career? That seems to have faded into nothingness.

What exactly has been this young woman's contribution to the country and the world community?

Are they getting the story set up for a White House wedding? Is that going to be the next distraction?

If this is the beginning of a new, responsible, productive life for the former Bush bimbo, then I wish her and her intended the best of luck.

If this is a P.R. distraction meant to shore up the reputation of the Bush legacy, then it's a sorry attempt.

Sounds like the guy tried to put together a romantic proposal. (or the P.R. people tried to write a romantic proposal story?). 4 a.m. rising doesn't sound like the Jenna we've come to know.

I don't know is a response akin to "damning with faint praise"

good luck Hager
get a good prenup
remember how they treated Neil's wife
a word to to the wise is sufficient

You, too, can raise your daughters with "conservative" values just as "Lady" Laura has done.

From the article: ".......resolutely private 25-year old."
Yeah, sure.

Young lady. You will couple and bear the extended Bush family an offspring.

It is your duty, as it was your mother's, whose weak fortitude stopped her from bearing a son.

I only hope you don't show your shame and weariness with life as much as your mother does.

It's bad for the political image.

Remember, liberals.

Stay focused on attacking Jenna Bush.

Don't worry about the votes taking place today in Congress.

God bless the troops.

Linda:

"When Facism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross."

Sinclair Lewis

Facism has arrived, it's called the Bush/Cheney Crime Machine and the Corrupt Republicans (like you) are nothing but a bunch of whitebread Neo-Nazis, dressed up as "Christians".

And I am absolutely certain God does not bless what we are doing in Iraq, since it is a violation of 2 of the 10 Commandments:

"Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's goods (oil)" and

"Thou shalt not kill (blood for oil)"..

Far from being divinely inspired, Bush and Cheney are destined to spend Eternity in Hell, with the blood of thousands of American GIs and hundreds of thousands of Iraqis on their hands and souls. And it was all based on Greed, one of the 7 deadly sins, and Lies, as in "Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor (WMDs)"

You are a gullible sucker; who probably goes to a Baptist Church every Sunday, to try and feel like oyu "belong". Drink some more Bush/Cheney urine KoolAid and tune in Hannity this afternoon, Sukka...

Now I'm Baptist?

Usually liberals here claim I'm Jewish, thinking that would be an insult.

Wasn't Jimmy Carter a Baptist?

God bless the troops.

Like the vote the other day to say the MoveOn ad was "bad, really bad!"? When the Congress gets back to voting on something that actually matters--health care, infrasturcture maintenence, cracking down on corporate crime--I will be rivetted.

And if there is a god (I have never seen any evidence thereof) let's hope that he/she/it WILL bless our troops--they have an ignorant, amoral thug as their commander in chief--they need all the help they can get!

lindamart60 says,
"Children of politicians should be off limits.
No matter who the child is."

So, Lindamart, did you feel that way when hatemonger Rush Limbaugh called Chelsea Clinton "the White House dog" on his radio show? At the time, Chelsea was about 13 or 14, an age when girls are terribly insecure even if some a--hole doesn't make fun of them on a nationwide radio show.

And it's not like the Bush gals are "children" for god's sake.

Anyway, it's good to see that the, you know, eloquence of the Bush family is like handed down from like generation to generation.

The voices of the "Right" (sic), Ingram, Limbaugh and Hannity, never let the facts get in the way of ideology....

They castigate MoveOn.Org for the General Betray-Us ad prior to his testimony, conveniently forgetting that Petraeus wrote an op-ed pices of Bullcrap in the Washington Post, shortly before the 2004 Election, lying and saying things in Iraq were getting better, when in fact they were not!

I guess it depends on who's bending the truth...

Keep repeating it: "Corrupt Republicans". Never say the word Republican again without the word Corrupt before it...

Actually HurryUp, it was the Democratic led Congress that condemned moveon.org today.

By a 341-79 vote, the House passed a resolution praising the patriotism Gen. David Petraeus, the commander of U.S. forces in Iraq, and condemning a MoveOn.org ad that referred to Petraeus as "General Betray Us."

God bless the troops.

Golly, gosh, Jiminy-Lord...what a fascinating little human interest story.

Personally, I'd prefer to see both of them in some desert issue body armor,
than traditional wedding garments, however.

Especially the young and (not particularly) dashing Mr. Hager.

Actually the pair of 'em could certainly do much to further their daddy's "noblest of causes" by parking their privileged little white arses in a hot dusty Humvee, somewhere near, let's say...Takrit, for example.

Better yet, perhaps they can land an assignment in Fallujah, where they might set about trying to find out just how many thousands of Iraqi civilians daddy killed and mutilated in his attempt to avenge the deaths of four contractors (who were earning approximately $1,000 per day)!

There are not 341 republican members of Congress.

But remember, Arianna Huffington wants you to remain focused not on the Lieberman amendment that was passed in July, not on the vote today to condemn moveon.org, but on Jenna Bush.
