AP:

The Senate passed a resolution Wednesday suggesting Baghdad limit the power of its federal government and give more control to Iraq's ethnically divided regions.

The 75-23 vote marked the first agreement on Iraq among lawmakers in months, although it would have little practical effect. Republicans agreed to swing behind the nonbinding measure after it was amended to make clear that Bush should press for a new federalized system only if the Iraqis want it.

Still, the resolution underscores a bipartisan longing in Congress for a fresh diplomatic approach in Iraq. It also was a victory for presidential hopeful Sen. Joseph Biden, D-Del., a primary sponsor of the resolution along with Sen. Sam Brownback, R-Kan.

I don't care who thinks it is a good idea. Would the tribes accept it? Otherwise this who thing is a moot point.

What a coincidence.
One tribe will celebrate under the sukkah.......still getting the goyim to do the heavy lifting.

The Democrats (the political party in which I am registered) were handed a bipartisan solution for ending the Iraq War by the Iraq Study Group aka (Baker-Hamilton).

The Democrats had the majorities of both houses of Congress. All they would have had to do is tell President Bush "If you don't adopt the policy recommendations in the report of the Iraq Study Group, you don't get any more money."

If Bush 43 had vetoed that, he would have been left holding the bag ... with nothing in it.

Can somebody remind me why we vote for Democrats these days? Is it really the lessor of two evils reasoning like I think it is?

Because for whatever reason, people don't actually look up all the candidates running and pick the one with whom they agree most. Looking at more than three candidates is too hard. So the media does the hard part and narrows it down for us.

There's two viable parties. Pick one. Of that one, there are three viable candidates, pick one. They've done all the thinking for you.

So even if you agree with Underdog a lot more that you do with Frontrunner, you go with the Frontrunner, because Underdog has no chance. And why does he have no chance? Because he doesn't have enough support. And why doesn't anyone support Underdog? Because he doesn't have a chance.

Then after we supposedly narrow it down to the least of the evils, we somehow still get stuck with evil. And we're somehow surprised. I have a new and radical idea. How about not voting for evil at all?

This is a fine new strategy. Support all sides of the civil war. Whichever sect is a majority in a region, back them, help them ethnically cleanse the territory, hand political control over to local thugs, creating massive numbers of refugees in the process. This is our "success" story in Anbar, now it is the model for all of Iraq. So, who gets Baghdad? And who's going to take care of the refugees?

2/3 voted with Hillary....

The same woman who's been getting away with saying that she had no idea that Bush would use her signature to get into Iraq!!!

That Iraqi democracy is really taking hold!

What they're doing is similar to what a rapist does. He holds a gun to his victim's head while he does her then he whispers little suggestions in her ear like, "move your hips" or "put this lipstick on"......

Only a few hours ago.

The staff at HuffPo seem to be having a contest to see who can come up with the most effective way of wasting users' time.

I think this is the first one with a serious chance of beating out "forcing them to scroll through page after page of cut-and-paste spam from people who should've been banned months ago"...

The only consideration when thinking about the US Senate. Dehydrate yourself if you have to transit an airport terminal.

Non-binding again?????

The only time I want to hear the word "non-binding" coming out of Congress is to say that Bush's entire presidency has been made "non-binding"!
