Whoopi Goldberg and Sherri Shepherd were not pleased with comments made by Bill O'Reilly about black people, based on observations he made while dining with Al Sharpton in Harlem.
Earlier today they played audio of Bill and then said this on ABC's "The VIew":

What Stund The Heck Out Of Me Was The Fact That Whoopi Didn't Have AL Sharpton Acting As Her Side Kick, I Mean After All Whoopi Did State In A Interview With Paula Zauhn Or However Her Last Name Is Spelled That She Really Believes That White People Make Racial Slurs To Or About Her On A Daily Basis. Soooo Of Course She Is Going To Have Go At Someone Else Making A Comment No Matter How Un-related It Is.

Now a days everyone has a race card to play. When progressives play it as they are now with Bill O, they discredit themselves. We all know that despite his politics, Bill O is no racist. When the right accused MoveOn of calling General Petraeus a traitor or John Kerry of disrespecting the troops when he blew the joke about Bush, we knew what kind of a game they were playing. Why are progressives how playing the same silly stupid game?
Because we've learned to FIGHT FIRE WITH FIRE.
We've learned that stupid people VOTE according to those stupid games. As far as I'm concerned the stakes are too high not to play HARDBALL with conservatives. We can't stand back and let them snipe, and spread propaganda to get the average sheeple in America to vote according to their fears. Its called Machiavellan politics and its time Democrats learned to play the game and PLAY TO WIN. Our congress, for instance, needs to do a better job of being fighting progressives.

A common pattern by some whites seem to be to deny that any behavior by whites, is not racism. It wasn't very long ago that some said the same apologies for Imus, and Michael Richards before him.

Why doesn't FOX have to answer for Bill O.? Shouldn't every media pundit be asking FOX NEWS executives, "Do you support Bill O'Reilly's bigoted comments? If not, then why does he still get air time?" FOX needs to start answering for their propaganda, and ridiculous Republican crap.

What is most frustrating for me is that O'Reilly thinks he has to explain to white people that black people are no different from us. Like all white people today are thinking in their minds that black people can't sit down at a restaurant and have a nice meal. It's rediculous. I mean, obviously racism exists in America today after what we've seen in Jena, but I think the majority of white people, especially in major cities like New York don't think like O'Reilly is thinking. O'Reilly is a tool!

No one who criticizes O'Reilly on this issue listened to the ENTIRE clip. It's pretty long and the media and race baiters have no attention span.
What he said to Juan Williams, a respected Black NPR personality is:
People across the world and in America have been given the impression that Black culture is mostly comprised of the likes of 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg and the like. When Obama is chastized for "not being black enough" one can easily see why people would get that impression.
He used Sylvia's as an example of how REAL black people are in a predominantly black community (Harlem). He was mocking being surprised because of the impression put forth that thuggery and criminal behavior and posturing are the core of black culture.
Juan Williams expressed the same sentiment.

I did indeed watch the entire clip. You do a most admirable job of reiterating talking points. I hope you feel so very, very good in your pathetic self-righteousness. Bill is an egotistical ass who preys on the ignorance and fears of the right-wing masses. He is full of mendacity, arrogance and hate. (yes, I can back that up with many examples with clips and transcripts. Don't you dare try to attack the truth.)

Also, talking points? The POINT is that a lot of blacks posture themselves as criminals ("snitches get stitches" t-shirts, baggy pants, skull caps). This is not how decent Black people in America act! When black people don't act like this, they're labeled as NOT BLACK ENOUGH! That is WRONG!

OJ had MANY supporters (white and black) during his murder trial.
Mike Vick had a scant few from the beginning.
What's the difference?
Mike Vick dresses like a thug, hangs out w/ thugs, flicks off the crowd like a thug, and has tattoo's like a thug's and OJ generally presented himself well prior to committing double murder.
There is racism in America, but it's a small, ugly subset of the population. It is appropriate however to judge someone who presents himself they way known criminals present themselves.
I appreciate Bill O'Reilly so much: He sexually harasses his co-worker(s?) to bring attention to the problem of sexual harrassment; He classifies people by their color rather than as people to bring attention to the problem of people being classified by their color; He supports our troops by supporting policies that put them in Harm's Way; He supports a short-term and long-term bankrupting policy of destroying relationships throughout the world to bring to our attention the problems with our relationships throughout the world; He supports, er supported, the boycott of France because, while they were ultimately factually correct, they're still France and haven't been much since the good old days of Napoleon (when unilateral attacks were a good thing). What is not to like about the guy. He's provactive and "shocky" and he gets us to have to think less because his simplistic approach makes things so much easier to understand (or at least have meaningless discussions and blogs about).
And this has to do w/ the Sylvia's comments because?
Of course people across the world and in America have this perception, because the dominate white culture has ingrained it into the social, political and economic fabric of this nation.
Ignorance has been a common thing, as one time it wasn't unusual for whites in America to believe that blacks had tails or that one could rub off the dark skin, as many blacks encountered whites who would touch them to see if their hands were blacken.
O'Reilly ignorance is cultural and racist as well as he ignores that what is odd is his personal ignorance, rather than that blacks can and do run credible businessess. The fact that he doesn't have a clue is ingrained in 'white priviledge' as he can go about being surprised about blacks, rather than being ashamed or embarassed that he is so ignorant.
So white people made black kids start dressing like rappers who got their start off as drug dealers? It's some big conspiracy to make an entire race look bad?
