Whoopi Goldberg and Sherri Shepherd were not pleased with comments made by Bill O'Reilly about black people, based on observations he made while dining with Al Sharpton in Harlem.

Earlier today they played audio of Bill and then said this on ABC's "The VIew":

LOL, look at the silly liberals, jonesing for anything to get rid of O'Reilly and his largest audience on cable.

Good luck with that, and good luck getting Hitlery elected over Rudy. 8 more years of the GOP and O'Reilly, coming up....

Look at the stupid rightwingers deluding themselves. Rudy? Yeah sure. GOP? Group of Perverts back in power? I don't think so. Only an idiot would look back at the six plus years and think the acquitted themselves well. I hope it is not Hillary but ANY one of the Dems is better than any of the Republican hypocrites.

Rudy? This country won't elect a cross dresser married to a Jewish American Princess.

Silly liberals!!! Imagine wanting a person who actually has the intellect to lead this country, who in tandem with her husband, could possibly regain this country's reputation on the world stage, instead of a cross-dressing, flip-flopping, lisping, philanderer. Boggles the mind, doesn't it?

wow. i guess we can all see what that 23% loyalty oath can do to your mind. Rudy? 8 more years of death and destruction and deficits? the good news is that your syphilis is reaching its end.

Wow and they use napkins too, just like us! And...wow! they really are just like us, wow! They're really just "starting" to act just like us, wow! Wow! They're almost like nomral, like us! Wow!
As if "they" are some kind of rare animal. Bill O'Reilley is the biggest, blindest fool on the planet. His moronhood is worthy of shock and awe. Mostly shock.
What planet does he live on?

I'm not defending Billo but he obviously thinks what he said wasn't offensive. Of course it was, but he can't understand why people would take it as racist. In his mind, he was paying a compliment but it really revealed what a racist he is. He was shocked that blacks acted like normal people, not the hip-hop stereotypes he imagines all of them to be.

America would not have any problems with a 50 trillion dollar economy and 300 million people.

That is 4 million dollars per person. It is selfish rich pricks like Bush that are the problem.

At least two hosts of the view care, as well as several bloggers on HuffPo, bloggers on many other sites, several TV and newspaper journalists and columnists, so far about 100 HuffPo commenters (excluding you of course :) and presumably many other people. Why do you ask?

P.S. Why the unnecessary screaming? If you press the caps lock key, you can get lower case letters too.

Honestly, when I heard this ranting of O'Reilly's, I thought it was one of the most racially bigoted things I had ever heard, and if Imus got kicked off for calling the young women what he did, then O'REILLY'S RANT IS MORE INFLAMMATORY, AND DISGUSTING THAN THAT OF IMUS.

How come it's OK for O'Reilly to have dinner with Sharpton but if African Americans are influenced by Sharpton (or Jackson), they're giving up their faculty of thinking for themselves?

And how come so many whites apparently are unable to express an opinion about race in America without implying or asserting that if it weren't for Sharpton and Jackson, there wouldn't be any racial problems?

Do these men truly have that much power over the discourse of race in the U.S.? And who decided that the power they do have is negative power? I would listen to and learn from Jackson and Sharpton over Bush, and over a lot of Democrats, any time, thanks very much.

I guess it's just easier for some people not to think intelligently about complicated issues.

Exactly rpence. Why have Al and Jessie become the blame all for racial discomfort in America?Because they politely assert that cases of racism and injustice should be dealt with in a reasonble manner. And... they bug us too much and we just don't want to hear about it so often, even if it is true. How come no one ever comments on how civil and kind and reasonable and forgiving they are when they identify problems? Aren't we blessed that they aren't out advocating violent or mean-spirited or illegal solutions to all these injustices? The MSM has largely succeeded in having the public dismiss them as gangster winers, making it more comfortable for us all to ignore the truth by blaming these peaceful messengers for stirring up trouble.

Are you kidding me? Do you mean to tell me that you think one of these women is Oprah?

I think this was merely an attempt to put O'Reilly's comments in a humorous context, which is where it belongs. You should look it up on YouTube. What O'Reilly said was ludicrous and it deserves to be treated as such.

I was just going to say that O'Reilly is out of touch with reality, but it appears that you are too.

The point is that O'Reilly's comments are getting around the mainstream, likely to the ultimate detriment of FOX and the GOP.

Whoopi Goldberg and Sherri Shepherd (not Oprah, dear) are being gracious while milking it for all of its comedic and political worth.

By taking the high road and making lemonade from a lemon, they are demonstrating their sophistication. Good for them.

They werent taking the high road! They were trying to talk about a "hot topic" while kissing Bill O's Ass because he will be a guest on their show next month! Had this been any other person they would have tore him a new one! And Joy would have as well. The fact is, the View DID NOT discuss this today, they were promoting the fact that this RACIST PIG will be on their show next month; even with all the NASTY things he said about Joy, Barbara Walters, and even the blonde republican chick while he was obsessed with Rosie O'Donnell... The fact is, he is a disgusting pig and by not calling him out on his nastiness, the "women" of the view are just as bad as he is.

One time I offended a black female coworker, a Northwestern University grad with cornrow braids, when I told of my experience seeing monkey meat sold at an outdoor market in the Republic of(formerly Zaire)Congo.
She felt I was prejudiced for simply pointing out that Africans eat monkey for dinner.
I think that she---and Bill O'Reilly---need to get out in the real world a little more often.

LOL @:

"a Northwestern University grad with cornrow braids."

I can sort of see how her college may be relevant to your post, but how in the world is her hairstyle in any way relevant to the rest of your comment? Billy, dude that's just plain bizarre.

Bill-O, your cornrow-headed coworker, and you need to get out in the "real" world a little more often.

So you think a member of a minority group is oversensitive about prejudice to the point of overreaction.

Are you saying the women on The View are overreacting? Bringing up your incident strongly indicates you do. I disagree with your view.

Your cornrow description reflects your negative attitude about one hairstyle primarily worn by blacks (and I have seen white people with that hairstyle). I think most people would appreciate that bit of diversity, even though it isn't their taste. The Northwestern comment reflects resentment about the woman's education.

Maybe she knows your antipathy toward her--well. Did you describe the monkey meat incident in an objective way or a grossed-out way? If it was the later, she wasn't overreacting but saw another example of racism.

Okay, so Bill "O'Lie to me" let his racist side slip out. Why should african americans be upset at the fact that he thought, we had no manner in a public place, that we don't know how to politely ask for more tea, that we don't normally dress up and go out for dinner? I think the african americans over at the Fox Channel should take Bill "O'Lie to me" home for thanksgiving dinner or to a black owned and operated diner more often.

Why are you so obsessed with Sherri from the View? We know that she doesn't believe in evolution, not sure if the world is flat...both of these facts I learned from HP. But do I care? Should my homepage be US WEEKLY instead? Now we want to know what Sherri thinks of Bill O'Reilly's statements? They seem to be cut from the same cloth...Mentally blocked and crudely amusing...One more Sherri Video and my Homepage goes back to Salon...You would serve yourself better to relegate these stories to your entertainment section.
