In today's New York Post, the Canterbury Institute took out a full page ad with the screaming headline "DON'T DIE LINDSAY" on p. 25.
New York native Lindsay Lohan, 21, is currently in rehab in Utah, her third stay at a rehab center this year. She checked in after an arrest for DUI and drug possession.

The day this obviously talented young lady stops shoving her private parts and her boozed expression in our faces is the day she will have graduated from the bad joke she's become.
I have a name for you. A young lady who also started in show business when she was very young. She was in the original "Freaky Friday". That name is Jodi Foster.
A young lady who was not seen parading her ass (and other body-parts) through endless bars and getting into DUI accidents. Who did not allow herself to be hounded by the press and photographers because she didn't feel the need to keep shoving herself in front of their cameras. Who took a little time off from the Hollywood madness and went to college, and graduated!
Thanks again normathumb, you have a quick wit.

Now that's good eats! Enjoy, ladies!

Maybe Lindsey should take out an ad outing the rehab center's success rate for all their attendees. I'll bet it isn't good. 70 to 80% of all people who go through rehab go back to drugs and alcohol. If rehab centers were cars, they would be re-called.

Nice weather in Provo, Utah these days. Some fly fishing with the MOs on the Provo is just what the doctor ordered.

How much did that ad cost? Sounds to me like an ad to get other has-been actors to pay thousands for a room where they'll come out just as addicted as when they went in.

nah, on second thought, Lindsay -- go ahead.

In my humble opinion, this ad is a violation of New York's Civil Rights Law Secs. 50-51, which prohibits the use of a person's name or likeness in a commercial advertisement without his/her consent. Anyone who hasn't been living on Mars the past couple of years understands to whom "Lindsay" refers within the context of the message, "It's time to consider a MEDICAL treatment for your drug or alcohol addictions." The advertiser also claims, "All you need is 3-5 days to get back on track." I'm decidedly not an expert in such matters, but there may be a false advertising claim there as well.
Overall, it's unseemly that that anyone should seek to exploit this girl's tragedy in such a manner for their own commercial gain.

Congress should condemn the ad IF it were slanderous, untrue.IF The NYP had given them 1/2 rate because it followed their agenda and IF the ad was published before she was abusing. Now rightfully so she should sue the crap out of Canterbury

It's a very effective ad. I mean, if you were thinking of going into rehab, wouldn't you want to go someplace where there was a chance you might hook up with a partying, relapsing coke whore like Lins?

This ad needs to be condemned by the Republican and Democrat Senators. They need to pass a bill condemning it wholeheartedly.

Lindsay Lohan has bravely served her country and Hollywood. It is not easy to serve under the conditions she is in.

With a non-binding resolution attached to a coprporate tax break.

Could the ad refer to an ex-mayor of NYC who had a last name beginning with "L"? Is he still alive? Maybe the place is going into the elder care businesson the QT. A lot of HMO's & Health Insurance Co's don't pay for treating alcoholism or drug addiction any more or only cover 3 days for de-tox.

After viewing this ad the first thing to come to mind was, this is just wrong. I have always been very critical over Paris, Britney, etc... I don't find them to be very good people since they continue to behave recklessly knowing they are role models to young kids. With Lohan, I was critical but since she worked her ass off as a kid to get where she is at and having the parents she has, I cut her slack.

With all the stars that go to "Rehab" I think this is the longest I have seen one of the "bad girls of Hollywood" actually stay in rehab. She, unlike others, has a possibility to recover her acting career like Drew Barrymore. For an ad to use her in an advertising scheme like they did just rings "wrong" to me.

I don't know the legalities when it comes to advertisement like this ad has done but legal or not it was done in poor taste.
