I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Michelle Obama stopped in Quad City, IA, yesterday, and sharply raised expectations for her husband:

"I ask myself what the world I want to hand over to my girls is," Obama said.

Of course, she made a case for her husband to become president, saying that America needs new leadership in the White House.

She said Barack needs Iowa to win. "Iowa will make the difference," Obama said. "If Barack doesn't win Iowa it is over."

A Strategic Vision poll released today shows Obama trailing slightly behind Clinton and Edwards: Clinton 24%, Edwards 22%, Obama 21%.

UPDATE: Ben Smith notes that Michelle may have been misquoted. ABC and NBC both note her saying: "If Barack doesn't win Iowa, it's just a dream. If we win Iowa, then we can move to the world as it should be."

UPDATE II: The Quad City Times has updated its story to include the quote used by ABC and NBC.

The wives need to shut up. This sounds like a parrot of what Barrack is saying - and it sounds desperate and pitiful. She isn't helping him and they are too inexperienced to be in this game.

Edwards is self destructing. Obama can't afford anything to go wrong so that he can pick up Edwards' supporters.

This is stupid. Hillary will win by just sitting tight and keeping positive.

"Hillary will win by just sitting tight and keeping positive." ....

Ya think? I completely disagree. Hillary appeared really off her game in last night's debate.

Edwards and Obama did a decent job in drawing attention to some errors she's made in the past. Incidentally, the moderator, Russert, also seemed to cause her to loose some of her footing.

I was sadly underwhelmed by Barack last night. Not sure if he's getting mentally phased out because of the consistently positive polls for Hillary but he needs to get his mojo back and QUICKLY. He was tepid and timid last night, no way to break out of the pack. I think he needs to shuffle his internal staff and bare some fangs once in a while.

Timid? He got zinger after zinger on Clinton. You weren't watching the same debate.

Also, how can anyone give weight to a NH poll that has an 83 percent undecided rate? That's right...

Sorry, if you're looking for Al Sharpton to emerge from Barack Obama, it ain't gonna happen. Obama is pure class and intelligence..that would be why you don't understand the man.

She never said it. The blog post admits she was misquoted. How could you miss that?
