Senator Obama was the scheduled guest on "The View" today, but had to cancel at the last minute to attend a Senate vote. With an hour to fill and zero guests, the ladies turned to sex talk. By 11:50, they were getting bleeped and oversharing.

Whoa purp...We do have a choice. Most of us came here because its a forum for political discourse. Filling space with junk like this dilutes the purpose for which, I think, this site was formed and is supported. There are lots of issues that need to be brought forth and discussed. I really miss the Huffit stuff that permitted us to post relevant, timely news items. This "entertainment" fluff stuff is not why I come here.

Our daily view update. Who cares. Personally can't stand Barbara Walters. So far she has managed to let everyone know that she is friends with the Hiltons, Rudy and Judy, Donald Trump (before the Rosie war), Bill O'Reilly and they all are, according to her, lovely people. But she called Rosie's mother-in-law a bigot. She feels the need to explain everything to her hosts and audience like they don't have a clue and keep up on the news. I think "The View" has jumped the shark. Rosie was the best thing they had going for them.

I read the Politics page first, as I think most of us do, but I really object to the constant commercials for "The View"on the Home Page so I don't read much farther.This show denigrates women.Also I don't think ANY of Arianna Huffington's readers care about Lindsay Lohan/Paris Hilton et al. I hope that doesn't flare up again.How do we as readers get the point across that we're adults and this is Hollywood garbage? I watch the View because I keep hoping it will get to be the show Ms. Walters thinks it already is.
No sign of that happening any time soon.
Yesterday's show was about a couple of women having fun...great...for sitting around someones kitchen..but not as a premise for a t.v. show!
I also agree that Mr. Biden was a gentleman as usual..else he would have shot some of those gals down...they were just plain silly.
Rosie was great for the time she was there...she brough enlightenment to many..but they double crossed her and she got out..rightly so.

When Biden was on he couldn't get a word in edgewise and was on for one segment and followed Jimmy Smits. And, Shari asked him the rudest, most disrespectful question (which if Elizabeth Hasselbeck asked the same of Obama she would be crucified).

The media in this country is so politicized on all sides that it is difficult to take them seriously.

Thank God for our ability to comment. No matter how much I disagree with some of the comments, or they with mine, at least CITIZENS from all across this great country are communicating with each other directly. Whether we agree or not, the real conversation must continue.

The media will only show the top 3 candidates - leaving the impression that the other candidates have nothing to say on those issues. How does the public learn about the other candidates? I guess the message is - we will cover you based on how much money you raise. Check out MSNBC Candidate ratings - the candidate with the largest positive shift in perception following the debate was Biden. Where is the story on that?
There are 8 people running for the Democratic nomination but you can hardly tell from the coverage.

Babara Walters has really striked out trying to fill the 'younger view' chair, prior to Elisabeth: Debbie Matalopous (sp?) - another nitwit, and anyone that could add value, ie: Lisa Ling - would have bigger journalistic career goals, and like Ling would never stick around for very long.
