Support for radio host Rush Limbaugh's latest controversial comments is appearing more and more non-existent. This morning, White House Press Secretary Dana Perino faulted Limbaugh for saying troops who returned from Iraq and criticized America's presence there were "phony soldiers."

Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), who is a frequent target of Limbaugh's, followed with a harsh statement: "Any American who risks his or her life to defend us has earned the respect and gratitude of every American citizen, irrespective of their views on this war. If Mr. Limbaugh made the remark he is reported to have made, it reflects very poorly on him."

Now former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney is weighing into the fray. In a statement to the Huffington Post, Romney's spokesman Kevin Madden offered the following on Limbaugh:

"Governor Romney would disagree with the negative characterization of those men and women who serve with honor and distinction in the United States Military. There may be disagreements with individual opinions, but no one would ever dispute the fact that those members of the military who disagree with the war have earned the right to express that opinion."

I think this whole incident will flame out pretty quickly because the accusations are so patently false and transparent. To those of you casting stones there is a lesson here: When you resort to fabrications you really end up damaging your own credibility.

This is a joke. If you want to see the entire Rush Limbaugh in context. He was talking about a specific soldier.

The MSM is a joke!!

Lastly, it wasn't even criticism by Mitt or McCain. McCain clearly hadn't even heard the statement, which is why he said 'If.' In context, just like the nonsense with O'Reilly, this is nothing but a hit job.

But, you liberals won't even listen to the transcript or the video because you don't care.

Intellectual dishonesty at its worst.

You guys are soooo full of sh*t!!! You posted Rush Limbaughs obfuscation of his bullshit not the transcript where he actually said it. How stupid do you think we are. I read what he actually said at the time. The solider he was speaking of in his obfuscation was not referred to until well after he used the phony solider line. He also said that the people that want the troops home just want them home because they want them....safe or something. Duh! Shows right there how much he cares about the troops. Then he said they signed up to go to Iraq. Maybe some of them did. Maybe some have been in the military longer than that. So that isn't true on it's face. I also doubt they signed up to go over there, win every battle and still have to keep going back again and again because the Commander and Chief is a freakin loser. You want to win this war then WIN the Damned thing already you disgusting losers.

Regardless, in the past he has insulted actual soldiers and veterans with stuff even more vile than this. He does it on a regular basis. If Rush wasn't a celebrity and you had to work with him everyday....you would like this guy!?

God, you guys(gals) make me so sad to think you are so easily herded by such a vile and despicable creature. WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH YOU...GET HELP....NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!~!!!!!@

Hi there, unlike you I have read the entire transcript. I had to, I transcribed it. He repeatedly refers to phony soldiers in the PLURAL! Now the English classes I had told me that if I use the plural, I mean more than one. But maybe you graduated from the same school as our fearless leader.
