Former Tennessee Sen. Fred Thompson will report raising more than $7 million in the third quarter, a source inside the campaign tells CNN Senior Political Analyst Gloria Borger.
Thompson is seeking the Republican presidential nomination. There are still three days for candidates to raise money in this fundraising period.

It would have been a body blow to the redneckery of the Republican South, and, perhaps, a signal to other Republicans that their future as a regional party of the old, Confederate States was upper bounded. If the American South still believes it has some sort of a lock on social virtue, perhaps, another stunning 'scold' from the U.S. body politik as whole, will bend it back to two-party viability?

This is so true... On another blog, the conversation was on Thomson's recent comment about "More Americans have died for the freedom of others than any one else"....
And the Thompson fan was (1) completely unconcerned about statistical accuracy of the statement; (2) unable to even parse the comments literally; (3) and so she injected *her* interpretation of what Thompson actually meant
She completely ignored what Fred actually said, and invented a "what he really meant was" that made her feel good....SHE **IMAGINED** HIS MEANING (that he himself couldn't convey), AND HAD ABSOLUTELY NO CLUE SHE IS IN LIVING IN TOTAL FANTASY WORLD! When you make up what other people say and really mean, that's fantasy.... It's also called "mental illness"
And you could just see from the content of this gals "what Fred *really* meant was...." that her FANTASY of him was a warm puff of smoke up her A**.... and she liked it --more than truth and reality.
