Ever heard of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum?

Me neither, but I'm studying up on him quick. Why, you ask?..well that's because soon he will be our new business partner. Yup..yours and mine. Every time we make a trade on the Nasdaq, he gets PAID.

How is that possible? Well, anything is possible if you're the Prime Minister and VP of the United Arab Emirates, as well as, the ruler of the city state, Dubai. So when the honorable Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum wants something..he gets it. Be it the world's largest aluminum smelter, the fastest growing airline company, ports, hotels, premiere soccer teams, cheap slave labor...the Sheikh can have it all.

When Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum decided he wanted a part of the western financial markets...he set his strategic plan to get it. On August 6, 2007 he created Borse Dubai, a holding company which essentially consolidated the all Dubai 'exchanges' under one 'holding' company. Now remember...The Sheikh owns this 'holding company' it is his. It is a STATE OWNED company.

Please read the full post. This shady 'arrangement will shock you

Before the voodoo economics of the neo-cons started being implemented by this president, a dollar bought about 1.2 Euros. Today, it buys about 0.8 Euros. Before he leaves office, it may be worth 1.0 Peso.
The state of the Dollar is directly attributable to the tried-and-not-true trickle down, voodoo economic policies of a failed president.

Dad, I applaud your comments always, well thought out and always on the money, but thier is not spelled thier, it's spelled their. It's one of the few exceptions to that i before e thing. I wouldn't say anything, but the wife is a retired school teacher. She brought this to my attention MANY times over MANY years. Thirty-wonderful-eight to be exact.
Keep on writing! We always look forward to your posts. You're a good man with a good heart.

I wonder if they would loan me some of their loonies. I want to blow something up for the heck of it. I don't know how I will pay them back but I'm thinking maybe to borrow some more from China in case Canada asks for payment of loan.

Compared to retail prices in Canada, the US is shopping heaven. Even oil that comes out of the ground in Alberta is cheaper in the US than in Canada when it comes out of the gas pump. Unless your Daddy left you a trust fund, be glad you live in the US. All we have to do is change the politicians in Washington and things will start to get better. We survived Viet Nam and we will survive Iraq.

You are in dreamland - for America's overall economic situation is alarmingly precarious. The World will no longer cut any quarter for it because it is the "World's largest economy". What is happening in Asia and Europe, and elswhere portends America's significant demise.
This has all been on Bush's watch - the overall deficit, the trade deficit (monthly at $60 Billion), the borrowing from Japan and China, the ongoing costs of Iraq which will go on for years and years, the broken military, the current (and still developing) credit cruch, the healthcare fiasco, the growing civil unrest in America, the failing auto industry, serious crime increasing steadily.
This is the real "security" which has been given in the "War on Terror", which is about to be as effective as the infamous "War on Drugs" - namely a perpetual, ongoing drain on America's resources into eternity because it is not a battlefield type of war which can, in fact, be won.
Immigration by Americans to Canada was at a 30 year high in 2006.

The voice of reality, RichardD! Finally!
The wife and I "liquidated" our modest pension fund and bought property in B.C. last year in anticipation of the growing American debt to China. By "conservative" estimates, the little buggers now own 16% of America's financial markets. The Saudis own 10-16%, depending on who you talk to, and how much they have to lose when the bill comes due.

Bush is not the problem, Cheney is. Bush isn't smart enough to be a problem to anyone but himself.

Cheney and his fellow madmen of the PNAC truly believe they can reconstitute "The Roman Empire" at its zenith, and that is what they have intended to do all along.
It will never happen.
The plebians of this Rome can read.
If they only will.

Lesson: Spending is better when you can run up credit cards, as opposed to paying for what you can afford (or even SAVING).

Last I heard, Canada runs a budget SURPLUS.

america imports huge amounts of oil and natural gas from canada at bargain prices. when canada brings up these exports to world prices, the american peso will be used for toilet paper.
