I look forward to the day the Liberals will actually practice what they preach. They are always tell us we have to change our ways but when you look at every major city, the bastion of Liberalism, all you see is cars to the horizon. When will we see the Liberals abandon their cars and start to ride bikes?

Once you moonbats actually start doing what you preach to everyone else, then maybe you will be taken seriously. Until then your just hypocrites.

I doubt if either Kevin Costner or Al Gore ride the bus on a regular basis. But then I doubt whether GWB ever rode the bus before he became President, or that any of those rich Holy Roller preachers do either. The unfortunate reality is that rich people, whether they are Liberal or Conservative don't have to limit their energy use. They can afford to buy pretty much what they want to. Conservation is for the rest of us.

Can you imagine what the monthly utility bills must be like for someone living in a 10,000 square foot house? But then, if you can afford a 10,000 square foot house, you don't have to worry about the cost of electricity in the summer or heat in the winter.

Yes, but the diference is, GWB is not encouraging legislation that would mandate that everyone other than GWB rides a bus.

That's the problem the opposition has with Al Gore (and AGW in general). Gore wants to pass laws requiring Americans do things he has no intention of doing.

One more note on ethanol: to promote it, try getting involved in racing. how about TURBO ethanol power, hmmm....also, eco-groovy safe,
you spill 1000 gallons by accident they don't
have to evacuate etc...evaporates away so easy cleanup...breaks down pretty quick in nature...
Hey, kids, hey, mom n dad, make your own at home! What? OPEC doesn't want to sell us fuel
anymore? NOT a problem with the WAMCO home ethanol maker! Just 4 low payments of $49.95 and it can be yours, along with ALL these accessories! A year's supply of yeast, 4 large
oak barrels for later taste-testing, plus payments cover all licensing and fees! Order today, operators are standing by! VISA/MC accepted!

There is plenty of technology out there like solar and wind that just needs good marketing, sales, and installation talent.

If I had 40 million dollars to invest I would become a distributor for existing alternative energy products.

You've got to give it to Costner. He puts his money where his heart is rather than playing the markets on anything that will make money!
It is advisable to really consider practical matters where green schemes and concepts will take us. After all, there is only a certain amount of money that even Costner can afford to throw away!

Mr. Costner, if I could address you personally, I would say:

Thanks so much for your efforts. Still, maybe you don't have to be so ambitious? Starting completely from scratch, developing entirely new technologies, is high-risk.

I keep looking for investment opportunities in renewable energy through the stock market. I'm finding them, and I've made decent money on quite a few of them.

Meanwhile, when I have to buy something (and I generally avoid buying anything -- consumption itself is part of the problem), I make sure that I keep the future of Earth in mind. There's a Prius in my driveway, and solar photovoltaic panels on my roof.

Cheers.

If he was smart he would have returned my messages and let me invest that money for him. But nooooooo! He had to do it HIS way :).
