Majority Opposes Bush's $190 Billion War Funding Request

Most Americans oppose fully funding President Bush's $190 billion request for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and a sizeable majority supports an expansion of a children's health insurance bill the president has promised to veto, putting Bush and many congressional Republicans on the wrong side of public opinion on upcoming foreign and domestic policy battles.

The new Washington Post-ABC News poll also shows deep dissatisfaction with the president and Congress. Bush's approval rating stands at 33 percent, equal to his career low in Post-ABC polls. Congressional aproval is even lower: Just 29 percent approve of the job the Congress is doing. That is Congress's lowest approval rating in this poll since November 1995, when Republicans controlled both the House and Senate, and represents a 14-point drop since Democrats took control last January.

It's clear to me that the radical left blew their own agenda. By being too heavy on the smear and disinformation, Democrats were publicly shamed and folded on the war. The anti-war bubble was popped, by Soros and Moveon.org. A hate campaign blew up in their faces. They claim of course they have no hate, that hate is what Republicans do. But hate and smears are the very hear=beat of the radical left wing movement. Look at the far left hate campaign the pushed Lieberman out of the democratic party.

And I'm clearly referring to the Moveon.org smear piece aimed at one of our top generals. It was so offensive, the left lost the war debate, for now.

It's laughable looking at them trying to go after Limbaugh in a "tit for tat" sorta "gotcha" move. It's too late. They can get Rush all they want, they lost control of the issue and they did it by resorting to a smear campaign that offended the bulk of the nation.

I personally feel that's unfortunate because the left brings something to the table...wh­en they aren't lying and smearing.

So now they play games with Children's health care in trying to massively expand socialized medicine hiding it behind "the little children". The favorite misdirection phrase of the left, as if we should be willing to sacrifice our nations freedom, economy, and capitalism "for the little children". This is not much more than another effort to design a "gotcha" for the 2008 elections.

Meanwhile Medicare disaster is looming and the democrats are no where to be found on that issue.
