The fundamental problem with the Bush administration, and with George W. Bush himself, is that he thinks he's the CEO of a corporation, and not an elected representative of the people. Because he thinks he is the CEO, he sees any money coming in as profit, and thus, he thinks he has full rights to spend it any way he chooses.

That money is tax money. It is the property of the people of this country. The majority of the people are the ones who decide what to do with it. If the majority decides that their tax dollars are being spent incorrectly, then the president is not acting as a representative of the people.

For all the Republicans out there, this is why people HATE George W. Bush. Because our tax dollars, which we are required by law to pay, are being used to occupy another nation. This isn't the war on terror, and the administration's claims that by occupying Iraq, that somehow this will stop terrorism, are absurd and insulting to the intelligence of the American people.

The United States does NOT have the financial strength any longer to continue policing the world. When we waste so much of our budget on political wars such as the occupation, when our government reduces the economy to rubble by implementing ridiculous economic policies (such as dropping import tariffs with countries that charge massive tariffs on our exported products), by using "cowboy diplomacy" instead of REAL diplomacy, they have essentially reduced our world power status to a joke.

If you are a Republican, how could you possibly feel proud about this? Do Republicans seriously hate this nation and its people that much? A vote for these aforementioned Republican­/neo-conse­rvative policies should be considered treason. To continue supporting these policies should be considered treasonous. These policies directly harm the people of this nation. A country IS its people. To betray the people, thus this country, is treason.

I think the basic BushCo position at this point is: Congress is our bitch. And, for all intents
and purposes, they're right. With Nancy 'impeachment is off the table' Pelosi
at the helm, caving and waffling on issue
after issue, I think our biggest weak spot
nationally is still unfortunately our Congress.
Bush is going to keep shoveling money at
the military-industrial horse---- story
indefinitely, as long as Congress keeps
caving and caving. So, write off your public
accountability, constitutionality, and the rest
of it, until and unless Congress decides to
marshal their resources in an honest and
wholehearted effort to stop the war.
I don't think I'm even going to the polls in 08,
not at this rate, no real point in it....

If, as Bush says, this is a "Global War" then we need a bigger army. Give Bush the $150 Billion dollars, but attach a provision that he must institute a draft to fight for America if the war is that important.
Then we'll see how long the war lasts.

Damn, I misinterpreted the headline. I thought that "majority opposes Bush's $190 Billion War Funding" refered to a congressional majority. Just as I was thinking "about time", my hopes were dashed yet again when I began reading the article and realized we were talking about the general public. Total dissapointment, since Congress seems to not give a hoot what the public thinks. (8% public support for war with Iran? Lets go!)
